For those backpackers and adventurers looking to save as much weight as possible, the freestanding Big Agnes Fly Creek HV 1 Carbon tent employs premium carbon poles and Dyneema fabrication to hit a trail weight of just 1 pound!
The tent stretches 86" in length. It is 38" at its widest point at the head and tapers to 28" at the feet. With 19 square feet of interior space, the tent offers adequate room for solo backpackers. An integrated vestibule offers 5 square feet of additional weather-protected external storage space. The tent has internal mesh pockets to free up floor space by stashing gear out of the way. Built-in gear loft loops offer a connection point for the Big Agnes Triangle Gear Loft (sold separately).
Breathable nylon ripstop fabric on the tent body saves weight and provides extra privacy. The floor and the fly are made entirely of Dyneema. This fabric is incredibly lightweight, rainproof, and an unparalleled resistance to stretching or sagging. Its unique structure has an extremely high tear-strength and allows for welded construction. This eliminates seams or the need for seam tape which enhances durability and waterproofness. NOTE: Dyneema can be punctured, but even if punctured, the fabric resists the tearing you would then expect from traditional fabrics. Big Agnes does include a Dyneema patch in case you experience a puncture. Big Agnes does also strongly recommend the use of the custom-fit Fly Creek HV UL 1 Footprint (sold separately) to bolster the floor of the tent against rocks and roots.
Lightweight, collapsible Easton carbon fiber poles provide the tent with freestanding structure and surprising livability. The hubbed design works in conjunction with the tent body's integrated plastic clips to make setting up the tent fast, easy, and intuitive.
When the weather is balmy and you really want to travel light, leave the tent body at home and use the rainfly and poles alone with the optional footprint (sold separately) for a tarp-style set-up that weighs a mere 13 ounces!
