By utilizing carbon fiber poles and premium Dyneema fabrication, the Big Agnes Tiger Wall 3 Carbon tent offers freestanding structure, two doors, and two vestibules at a trail weigh of just 1 pound, 13 ounces!
Tapered from the head to the foot, the interior of the tent measures 66" at its widest point and stretches a full 88" in length. The 38 square feet interior provides adequate elbow room for up to 3 backpackers or serves as a roomy shelter for one or two. Two doors provide convenient access and dual vestibules offer a combined 16 square feet of additional weather-protected external storage space. Interior mesh pockets provide places to stash gear and clothes while integrated gear loft loops offer a connection point for the Big Agnes Triangle Gear Loft, Trapezoid Gear Loft, Large Trapezoid Gear Loft, Wall Gear Loft, or Large Wall Gear Loft (all sold separately).
Lightweight, collapsible Easton carbon-fiber poles provide the tent with freestanding structure. The hubbed design works in conjunction with the tent body's integrated plastic clips to make setting up the tent fast, easy and intuitive.
Breathable nylon ripstop fabric on the tent body saves weight and provides extra privacy. The floor and the fly are made entirely of Dyneema. This fabric is incredibly lightweight, rainproof, and an unparalleled resistance to stretching or sagging. Its unique structure has an extremely high tear-strength and allows for welded construction. This eliminates seams or the need for seam tape which enhances durability and waterproofness. NOTE: Dyneema can be punctured, but even if punctured, the fabric resists the tearing you would then expect from traditional fabrics. Big Agnes does include a Dyneema patch in case you experience a puncture. Big Agnes does also strongly recommend the use of the custom-fit Tiger Wall UL 3 Footprint (sold separately) to bolster the floor of the tent against rocks and roots.
If you want to travel even lighter and conditions are cooperative, you can leave the tent body at home and use just the rainfly, poles, and the footprint to create a tarp-style set-up that weighs just 1 pound, 7 ounces!
