Description

Ideal for backpackers who want to travel light but still appreciate two points of entry and freestanding structure, the innovative Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL 2 tent weighs in at just 2 pounds, 3 ounces!

Tapered from the head to the foot of the tent, the interior of the tent measures 52" at its widest point and stretches a full 86" in length. The 28 square feet interior provides adequate elbow room for 2 backpackers or serves as a roomy shelter for one. Two doors provide convenient access and dual vestibules offer a combined 16 square feet of additional weather-protected external storage space. Interior mesh pockets provide places to stash gear and clothes while integrated gear loft loops offer a connection point for the Big Agnes Triangle Gear Loft, Large Trapezoid Gear Loft, or Wall Gear Loft (all sold separately).

Lightweight, collapsible DAC Featherlite NFL poles provide the tent with freestanding structure. The single hub/pole design works in conjunction with the tent body's integrated clips to make setting up the tent fast, easy and intuitive. Aluminum J stakes are included to ensure a taught pitch.

Ample mesh on the tent body maximizes cross ventilation and provides circulation to fight condensation build-up. Coated with 1200mm waterproof polyurethane, the silicone-treated rip-stop nylon floor and rainfly are lightweight and durable. All of the tent's seams are seal-taped with waterproof, solvent-free polyurethane tape (no PVC or VOCs) to further protect the tent from the elements. The custom-fit Tiger Wall UL 2 Footprint (sold separately) can be used to add additional protection beneath the tent from mud, ground water, or sharp objects. If you really want to travel light, you can leave the tent body at home and use just the rainfly, poles, and the footprint to create a tarp-style set-up that weighs just 1 pound, 11 ounces!

  • Minimalist pole structure creates an ultralight two-door backpacking tent
  • Two doors and two vestibules with storm flaps on the vestibule zippers
  • DAC poles
  • Single pole architecture makes set up and take down simple and efficient
  • Dual zipper door with discrete seams allows for easy entry and smooth closure
  • Structured foot-end corners create more usable space between your feet and tent wall
  • Quick Stash on tent body door makes stowing unzipped door quick and easy
  • Over-sized ceiling pocket provides great storage space
  • Media pockets located above sleeping area enable clean ear bud cord routing from phones or other devices.
  • Double zipper on the vestibule allows for venting from the top or bottom
  • Velcro tabs connect fly to pole structure providing perfect pitch and extra stability
  • Pre-cut guy lines and tensioners attached to fly
  • Reflective guylines and webbing on tent corners
  • Easy grip zipper pulls

Great Backpacking Tent

Likes

The UL2 strikes a perfect balance between weight and livability for me. The two vestibule doors make entry and exit convenient, the tent is easy to set up/take down, packs down small, and fits nicely into the included stuff sack. If you purchase the ground cloth, you can also pitch the fast fly setup using just the ground cloth and rainfly. While I don't use this feature, I like that the rainfly buckles directly into the ground cloth, to prevent it from shifting around too much.

Dislikes

Like most have stated, there is a bit of an issue with the zipper on the rainfly, which can be a minor annoyance. Overall though, I love this tent and am very happy with my purchase.

Nearly Perfect

Likes

Lite , Quality and roomy for one person, but room for two people that don’t getting cozy. But not for two 25” pads. I’ve had no problems with the tent. It’s about a 4.8 for me.

Dislikes

Would be nice to have a little more adjustment in the corner tie downs.. I’ve heard that in cold wet weather the zippers can be difficult. I’ve used it in warm wet weather and they were OK.

Great tent in the lightweight category

Likes

This is a true lightweight tent but with that comes very thin material so you do have to be careful. Footprint highly recommended. Because of that, I don't feel like it's a solid 3 season tent, more of a 2-21/2 season. I love that it has two openings and little pockets on the inside for small items and it's very easy to set up.

Dislikes

Gossamer thin material so handle with care. When rain fly is rolled up, it's at an angle that doesn't match door opening so you bump into it a lot. Be careful when zipping doors to not catch fabric.

Best tent I’ve purchased to date

Likes

Currently have BA Fly Creek UL1 and UL2. These are both great but I wanted something with side opening doors. Enter my new favorite - Tiger Wall 2P. Easy to setup, super light, tons of room for one but will accommodate two. Did a weekend at Max Patch last weekend on the AT and fell in love with it immediately. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up.

Dislikes

The main bag ripped in two places by just looking at it, but otherwise, no complaints. Be GENTLE with the bag when stuffing it back in.

Got this tent to replace my BA Copper Spur UL1. Can't wait to use this on my next hike. I loved my Copper Spur but it was cramped if I brought my gear into the tent on rainy nights.

Likes

This tent weighs about the same as my BA Copper Spur but I get more room. Setup is just as easy as my free standing tents. I just got this tent a few weeks ago and will be taking it out for the first time next week, so I can't review on it's durability and water proof-ness.

Dislikes

I saw a YouTube review that expressed some dissatisfaction with the guy lines. I have to agree that the guy lines on the rain fly are short and I had to add a hitch knot so I could adjust it. I'm replacing the existing guy lines with some light weight 1.2 mm dyneema cord and adding some guy line cord tensioners so I can adjust the tension once it's stacked out.

A sweet spot between the BA Copper Spur and Fly Creek

Likes

The Tiger Wall is a new tent that appears to combine the double side-entry doors from the Copper Spur with the semi-freestanding single pole foot area from the Fly Creek. For me, this tent hits the sweet spot with the Copper Spur's livability in a 35 oz package!

Dislikes

The gold color scheme doesn't exactly blend into the Atlantic Coast's natural scenery.

Love it!

Likes

It is a very light weight tent including the frame & stakes. Love the yellow gold color of this tent. It is so easy to install with the snap frame & features. The 2 person tent is quite spacious. I love the 2 doors and the 2 vestibules.

Dislikes

Needs 2-3 more stakes in order to stretching the rain fly on the sides.
