BLACK DIAMOND DISTANCE ZTREKKING POLES

After initial orientation on set up I was very impressed with design. Very lt.wt. and I just used on a rigorous pack pack trip in a wilderness area traveling 50 miles. Very rocky trails and they show little wear. Great!.

Excellent value for a great product

A little bit more affordable than the carbon version but nearly as light. Seem a bit more robust as well.

Light and sturdy

They are light and strong. I likes how easy the joints lock together once I read the directions. A simple pull on the top joint locked all 3 joints. Nice design.
Dislikes
Wish the plastic basket were removeable.

Lightweight, helps during long runs

I started using poles hiking a few years back so using poles for ultra running wasn’t that awkward. But using my hiking poles for the task, was definitely clunky. These are very lightweight as could be expected. They pack well, I can attach them to the straps of my running pack and basically don’t notice they’re there. So far I’ve used them for a 35 mile training run and a 50 mile race, I have no reason to believe they won’t last for years. The locking mechanism seems solid, as does the build quality/materials. It’s aluminum, so it’s not going to survive chopping a tree down, but I’ve put my full weight on one pole (on accident of course), it held me up fine and I didn’t go down mid run, so they’re good in my eyes. As always, take care of your gear. Wipe them down, clean them, and let them dry as need be. Trail dust, salty sweat, happy (or sad) tears, grit, it all plays poorly with hardware, keep it clean and it should last for a long bit! (and I’m not in a place where I can yet justify several hundred dollars for high end carbon fiber, nor do I feel the need)
