Description

Black Diamond Trail Ergo Cork trekking poles offer innovative features rarely found on poles sold at this price. Easy-to-adjust external locks, ergonomic cork grips, and aluminum construction combine to make the poles a great value.

Far easier to adjust than the internal locking mechanisms used by many telescoping poles, the external locks found on these poles are ideal for use in all conditions and seasons. Black Diamond's FlickLock system couldn't be much simpler. Even if you're wearing gloves, it's a cinch to open the lock with a flip of your finger, slide the pole section to the required length and tap the lock back into place. Once you've used FlickLocks, you'll wonder why anyone would ever want to wrestle with temperamental internal mechanisms.

Ergonomic cork grips provide contoured and comfortable handholds and additional lengths of foam padding extend far down the upper pole sections, allowing you to adjust where you grasp the poles without having to shorten or extend the poles each time you encounter a steep slope. Padded, adjustable webbing straps help to reduce stress on your wrists.

Press-fit Tech Tips have integrated low-profile trekking baskets that provide backcountry traction. These tips allow you to choose between a carbide tip that offers ideal bite on ice and other hard surfaces and non-scarring rubber tips that won't damage trails or rock. You can also equip the poles for winter use by utilizing broader-diameter Powder Baskets (sold separately).

good purchase, good company

arrived on time and in excellent condition. Haven't really used yet as the temps in Texas are 100 plus at the moment. The grips are comfortable as stated in ads. Also adjustments were precise and solid. Looking forward to using them soon. Will update review later.

Dislikes

Haven't seen anything I didn't like so far.

Solid trekking poles

Likes

They’re a solid all around trekking poles. The cork handles feel great after a looong day of hiking and you can adjust the poles fairly easily. I’ve heard complaints of the tip breaking but haven’t had any problems after a few hikes. I’ve come to love Black Diamond gear as I have had no issues with any of their gear.

Perfect trekking poles

Likes

Im not experienced using trekking poles and really doubted my need for them. Boy am I glad I tried these! They make the backpacking experience so much more enjoyable. The cork handles are very comfortable and work great even with sweaty hands. The construction and adjustability of these poles are top notch! Highly recommended!

These are great trekking poles

Likes

These poles are great. The cork grip is comfortable and easy to hold when hands are wet from sweat or rain. The clamps on the two section adjustments are difficult to open and close but it does provide a feeling of security. I don't feel like they will break with repeated use. The nylon straps are easy to adjust by pulling on just one side of the loop.

Nice!

I am NOT a fan of the newer locking systems. The twist lock stuffed worked great and was sleeker making t'poles easier to stash. However, the design on the locks on these BD poles ain't bad. No hard edges. And they seem to keep their positions OK. I like the ergonomic cork handles. Replaced the metal tips with the plastic. While they may be a bit more slippery, they are quiet. No more "clack...clack...". Love it! Overall, I had a set from another provider but, after some...unusual...treatment when one broke, I sold those and bought these. I like these WAY better. If axed, I would definitely recommend these.

Dislikes

As mentioned, the newer locking mechanisms. The handle straps don't seem to want to stay where I adjust them.
