Black Diamond's Control Shock Technology (CST) employs a unique external absorption mechanism that functions smoothly and quietly without diminishing the collapsibility of the poles. CST's progressive, 4-stage shock absorption saves wear and tear on your wrists and maximizes pole performance.
Far easier to adjust than the internal locking mechanisms used by many telescoping poles, the sturdy FlickLock Pro external locks found on the upper shaft sections of these poles are ideal for all conditions and seasons. Using them couldn't be much simpler. Even if you're wearing gloves, it's a cinch to open the lock with a flip of your finger, slide the pole section to the required length and tap the lock back into place. An integrated SmashLock quick-release feature allows you to quickly extend or collapse the lowest pole sections.
Contoured foam grips serve as comfortable, confident handholds. These textured grips extend far down the upper pole sections, allowing you to adjust where you grasp the poles and eliminating the need to shorten or extend sections each time you encounter a steep slope. These tips allow you to choose between a carbide tip that offers ideal bite on ice and other hard surfaces and non-scarring rubber tips that won't damage trails or rock.
