The MegaMat has long been celebrated for the amazing comfort it delivers and the self-inflating Exped MegaMat Max 15 LXW takes that comfort to another level. It's 50% thicker, has a soft stretch-knit surface, and incorporate extra-large valves to make deflation easier.
The mattress's open-cell foam core provides a luxurious sleeping base and makes inflation easy. When you unroll the mattress and open the inflate valve, the foam responds by soaking up air, similar to a sponge absorbing liquid. Once the mattress has inflated, you can use the included Exped Minipump or other Exped pump accessories (sold separately) to top off inflation for a firm sleeping surface or you can let some air out for a softer mattress.
Stretch tricot fabric on the pad's surface provides slip-resistance and next-to-skin comfort. High-frequency welded seams and strong lamination provide reliable durability. The unique 3-D designs creates vertical sidewalls that enhance comfort.
Glues used in sleeping pad construction are often broken down by moisture but Exped's proprietary fabric lamination process creates airtight baffles and prevents potentially destructive moisture and bacteria from building up in the pad and destroying the glues.
The Exped MegaMat Max 15 LXW has an incredibly warm 11.0 R-value which is worthy of year-round use. The pads fully-inflated dimensions are 77.6" x 30.3" x 6". A stuff sack is included.
