The Fjallraven Bergtagen pack is an extremely durable, high-performance mountaineering pack. It utilizes a unique wooden frame, has a removable top lid and hipbelt, and is constructed of environmentally-responsible waterproof fabric.
The pack's birch wood frame provides strong support while decreasing the carbon footprint of manufacturing. Padding in the shoulder harness, the hipbelt and the lumbar portion of the backpanel help to cushion your load and provide additional support and stability. If you're carrying a lighter load, are wearing a climbing harness, or simply want to shave weight, you can remove the hipbelt entirely. Load-lifter straps and an adjustable sternum strap further help to dial in fit and balance weight.
The top-loading pack has a floating lid that adjust to accommodate expansion of the internal storm collar depending on how much gear you're carrying. Like the hipbelt, the lid can be removed if you want to trim weight or don't have need for the extra storage the lid and its two zippered pockets provide. A compression strap running over the top of the packbag helps to secure and protect contents when you're not using the lid. While the pack isn't tape sealed, the PFC-free, 100% post-consumer recycled Bergshell fabric is fully waterproof so you enjoy a high-level of weather protection.
Other features include a zippered internal pocket, a zippered hipbelt pocket, daisy chain gear attachments, and ice tool/trekking pole attachment loops. A reinforced interior sleeve has loops for safely stowing avalanche equipment and a separate lined sleeve makes the pack hydration system compatible (hydration system not included). Top and side compression straps help to secure contents, cinch down un-used space, and lash skis or snowshoes to the exterior of the pack.
Fjallraven’s Bergtagen pack is available in your choice of size and color options.
