Weighing in around two and a half pounds, the Gregory Facet 55 Women's internal frame backpack provides ultralight support without compromising on trail-worthy features. An open-air mesh backpanel, lightweight aluminum frame, and more than 3100 cubic inches of storage make this pack ideal for ounce-counting female hikers and backpackers on extended trips.
The pack's FreeFloat suspension system utilizes a perimeter frame constructed of ultra-lightweight 7001 aluminum with anti-barreling support and flex panels linked to the hipbelt that move with the natural movements of your body while evenly distributing the weight for an efficient, supportive carry. Moisture-wicking mesh wraps around the backpanel from the tips of the hipbelt to the harness ends for breathability. A seamless transition between the open mesh backpanel and the shoulder harness and padding that wraps around the harness edges help minimize pressure points and hot spots. The backpanel, hipbelt and shoulder harness mesh are treated with Polygiene, which is designed to inhibit the growth of odor-causing microbes. Load lifter straps and an adjustable sternum strap further enhance fit and ensure stability. To ensure a customized fit, the pack is available in XSmall (best fits 14"-16" torso lengths), Small (16"-18"), and Medium (18"-20") size options.
The top-loading pack offers from 3173 to 3539 cubic inches of storage, depending on the selected size. A protective top lid with two zippered pockets is included but can also be removed entirely if you're traveling light. A protective weather flap tucked in the underside lid pocket can be deployed over the top drawcord closure and webbing compression strap to help protect the contents when not using the lid. Inside the packbag is an integrated sleeve that makes the pack hydration compatible (hydration system sold separately). The pack also has toggles to connect the Gregory Nano 14 day pack (sold separately) within the interior.
Externally, the pack offers streamlined storage that still gives hikers the opportunity to organize and separate gear. An oversized front stretch pocket that's reinforced with a front fabric panel is great for wet layers or keeping other clothing at hand. Side stretch mesh pockets have a side opening for storing a water bottle that's accessible while hiking along with compression straps that can be routed over or under the stretch mesh. Other features include oversized zippered hipbelt pockets, a lower loop and adjustable elastic loop for trekking poles, and a quick-stow feature for sunglasses on the front harness.
