Great chair but too tall for me

Likes

Great construction. Very sturdy and packs down small and lightweight. Not small enough for backpacking, but definitely light enough to bring along on a short walk to the park. The high back is nice and allows you to lean back. Easy to get in and out of.

Dislikes

I like the Chair One a lot better as it is sits much lower to the ground, but this is probably more of a personal preference as I like to have my knees bent a bit when I am sitting down. I am 6'1 and I still felt like the chair was too tall. The bottom of the chair curves upwards at the front. When I sit in it, my knees are almost pointing straight out, which makes my thighs basically parallel with the ground. With my legs sticking straight out, the curved bottom of the chair puts a lot of pressure on my inner thighs, making it a bit uncomfortable. The Chair One model is much closer to the ground, so when I sit in it, my knees and thighs are pointed upwards. The upwards angle of the chair bottom flows much better with that seating position. I feel like on this taller chair, they need to redesign the bottom of the seat so it doesn't curve upwards so much and poke you in the legs so much. If you are really tall then maybe this chair will work for you, but I think the Chair One is more comfortable than this one, and it is also much much cheaper.

THE perfect camp chair

Likes

Hands down the best camp chair I've ever sat in. The sunset chair is so comfortable it has become a must even for extended backpacking trips - it's worth carrying the weight. I am 6'3" 200lbs and this chair is plenty large for me. It puts you in a lounged position and it's just wonderful to be able to put your feet up and rest your head (thanks to the high back) at the end of a long day. I even use these at home when having friends over for ball games and everyone is amazed at how comfortable these chairs are! Set up in seconds.

Dislikes

Handles on carry bag came un-sewed after one use.

Great for car camping/short backpacking trips

Likes

Have just used it once but I love its ease of assembly, comfort, and packability. Bought it to replace a Helinox Chair One, for use inside the tent. Love the higher sitting position - it's better than Chair One for slipping on pants, socks/shoes, etc.

Dislikes

It's slightly heavier than the Chair One, which will likely remain my go-to backpacking chair.

Love helinox

Likes

I came from the Helinox Chair One and having used it for a couple of seasons wanted something higher off the ground with more back support. The Sunset chair filled the need. It's every bit as comfortable as what I expect from helinox and the storage bag can be stuffed with a jacket and used as a head pillow. If you can find the Helinox International site they have the rocking feet for this chair!!

The Helinox Sunset Chair is lightweight, built tough, and very comfortable. Great design and materials are high quality. Awesome chair! Hope it lasts & lasts!

The Helinox Sunset Chair is lightweight, built tough, and very comfortable. The price is steep but the quality is excellent. The high back of the chair allows me to rest my head/neck & also gives pretty good back support. Really like this chair & very happy with my purchase! Comes with a nice quality bag which can also be used as a pillow, & attaches to the chair back, with velcro.

Dislikes

Price... very expensive :( But the chair's comfort & performance will help ease the sticker shock :)

I had a couple of the Helinox camp chairs for car camping with the family, but wanted something with a little higher back support for my wife and I. These hit the spot and still very light weight.
