Delivering confident traction for walking and hiking on packed snow and ice, the Kahtoola K10 Hiking Crampon (2015/2016) gets you above treeline and out into the backcountry in winter. Broad adjustability fits a broad range of boot sizes.

Description

Delivering confident traction for walking and hiking on packed snow and ice, the lightweight (21.5 oz/pair) Kahtoola K10 Hiking Crampon is ideal for getting above treeline and out into the backcountry in winter. Broad adjustability allows the crampon to fit over most types of shoes and hiking boots.

The K10 Hiking Crampon attaches securely to shoes and hiking boots ranging from a US Women’s size 8.0 to a US Men’s size 13.0. The flexible Leaf Spring Extender Bar helps to position the foot properly to maintain a natural stride. An easy-to-use spring clip allows for adjustment without any need for tools.

Dual buckles (front and rear), make the crampon easy to put on and a "quick fit" binding makes it easy to dial in a proper and comfortable fit. Rear supports lock your heal into place and independent front and rear straps ensure that the fit remains secure while allowing your foot to flex naturally.

Constructed of 4130 Chromoly Steel, the K10 Hiking Crampon is extremely durable and resistant to rust. The aggressive heel and forefoot crampon points point downward to provide maximum traction.

The Kahtoola K10 Hiking Crampon is sold in pairs. NOTE: The K10 Hiking Crampon is not recommended for mountaineering or climbing use.

Kahtoola K10 Hiking Crampon

Likes

Ability to put on and remove. Sturdy Design

Dislikes

Clips can be a little difficult to open when hands are cold

Performed well; not a substitute for a true crampon

Likes

Easy to get on and off (even over Pac boots), simple to adjust and did well on a snowy, icy trail to a summit in New Hampshire. I liked them. However, they are not sufficient for the terrain where I'm hiking -- I'm upgrading to a heavier-duty crampon.

Dislikes

None.

Exceeded my expectations...

Likes

Only hours ago I was hiking up icy/frozen slush mountain trail. These babies never missed a beat! I could never have made it up without them. Other than the exceptional traction I never knew I had these on. Very comfortable.

Dislikes

Hmmmmmm...ill get back to you when I can think of any?

Great durability and great traction on ice and glaciers.

Likes

Intuitive, flexible and adaptable on glacier travel, icy trails and hardpacked snow. Big improvement over Microspikes.

Dislikes

Nothing to dislike!
