Description

The Kelty Cosmic 20 Degree sleeping bag is ideal for 3-season backpacking and camping. Water-resistant down insulation and an array of features make this sleeping bag a great combination of value and comfort.

This sleeping bag is insulated with 600-fill DriDown. Renowned for efficiency in retaining heat and compressible properties, down has an incredibly soft, comfortable feel, and despite advances in synthetic materials, continue to provide the best warmth-to-weight ratio of any insulation available. The one inherent weakness of down insulation is that it loses much of its ability to maintain warmth when it gets wet, but the DriDown performs differently. Employing a unique, innovative polymer application, DriDown actually creates a hydrophobic finish on each individual plume of down. This treatment results in insulation that stays dry longer and dries faster, should it become wet, than that in bags with untreated down.

A draft tube behind the 60" two-way locking anti-snag zipper and an insulated hood enhance the thermal efficiency of the Cosmic 20 Degree bag. A polyester taffeta liner provides internal comfort. Other features include a small pocket to keep electronics handy and a naturally-shaped footbox.

The Kelty Cosmic 20 Degree sleeping bag is available in Short (fits up to 5' 6"), Regular (up to 6' 0"), and Long (up to 6' 6") lengths. Each sleeping bag includes a stuff sack.

An Easy Going Mummy!

Likes

Full disclosure: I am a restless sleeper. I spin. I toss. I turn. I do not like to be confined in a mummy bag. Yea, yea, I know they are technically superior regarding the maintenance of body temperature. So I gave this one a try because I read that it's proportions were rather generous for such a lightweight bag. And you know, they were right. I don't feel constricted. I think this mummy and I will get along fine. I haven't tested its temperature limits yet, but thus far I am quite pleased. The construction is top notch with lots of nice design touches and easy pull zippers. And it gets really small when packed in a compression sack. Very happy.

Dislikes

My only gripe is a textural one. The new generation of lightweight materials feel very slick and slippery. Not cottony-plushy-soft. But that's the deal with ALL of them. I can get used to it. Or get a liner. But for now I'm happily living with it.

Great Product!

Likes

Warm, comfortable, durable zippers.

Dislikes

The color is a little flashy for hunting and the exterior fabric is a little loud (swishy). But Im not hunting from within the bag!

This is a decently warm bag that kept me warm down into the 30s in Idaho, although wearing a few layers as well.

Likes

Packs down much smaller than comparable synthetics, and the new 20D material is softer than the previous model. Relatively light weight for the price.

Dislikes

Pretty expensive for the weight and warmth, although the best option in the down category.

Perfect for it's price

Likes

600's basic bag, lightweight, fits my 40 litter's backpack with UL tent. Perfect for it's price, especially when sale.

Dislikes

No compression pack, separated one cost a bit expensive.
