Offering over 4000 cubic inches of storage capacity when fully expanded, the Mountainsmith Apex 60 pack has the load-carrying capability and organizational features to cover both weekend and weeklong backpacking trips.
Utilizing an aluminum hoop frame that helps to transfer weight directly to the structured waistbelt, the pack is designed to comfortably haul loads of up to 60 pounds by efficiently distributing weight, providing better load control, and increasing flexibility. The molded EVA foam backpanel and lumbar pads are separated to create an open air channel on your back for maximum airflow. The pads also have molded channels to enhance overall breathability. Fit is adjustable to accommodate torsos ranging from 18"-21" in length. High-density EVA in the waistbelt helps to support the pack's weight and load transfer and provides cushioning while conforming to the contours of your hips. Dual-density adjustable shoulder straps, load-lifter straps, and an adjustable sternum strap further dial in fit and comfort.
The main packbag has a top collar opening with a one-handed cinch closure and a large U-shaped front panel zipper so that you can easily access your gear no matter where you packed it. A floating lid has a spacious main pocket and a smaller zippered pocket on the underside. An extendable sleeve on the front panel adds up to 11 liters of storage space for longer trips or more gear-intensive adventures. There's also a large, zippered pocket on the front panel.
Additional pockets, gear loops and compression straps provide options for your gear storage and organization. Deep stretch mesh pockets on either side of the packbag also have slip pockets underneath them. There's also a side water bottle holder that can be folded away when not in use. Compression straps on the sides and bottom help stabilize the load whether you've got the pack fully extended or you're looking to cinch it down for a lighter trip. Adjustable tool loops care integrated directly into the lower side compression straps. For quick access to snacks and other small items, there are two zippered stretch mesh pockets on the hipbelt.
The Mountainsmith Apex 60 internal frame backpack is available in your choice of color options.
