An all-in-one introduction to snowshoeing, the MSR Evo Snowshoe Kit includes a pair of classic Evo Trail snowshoes, a pair of durable aluminum poles, and a storage bag!
Lightweight, molded Evo Trail snowshoes provide confident traction and "flotation" on packed trails or rolling terrain. Their compact profile maximizes agility and by promoting an easy, natural stride. The injection-molded plastic frame offers flotation and extreme durability. Two parallel, aggressively-toothed steel rails provide superior traction to traditional snowshoes and a stainless steel, pivoting toe crampon allows you to maintain a free range of motion without jeopardizing balance. The DuoFit Binding has 3 adjustable straps that conform to varied footwear.
MSR’s suggested weight range for the snowshoes is 90-180 pounds (including shoes, user and gear). Deep, untracked powder demands a higher surface area from a snowshoe in order to keep you from sinking too deep for easy travel. If you expect to encounter these types of conditions, the modular design of the Evo allows you to attach the MSR Evo Tail (sold separately) to increase surface area and provide greater flotation. By using tails, you can also increase the suggested weight capacity to 250 pounds. NOTE: Even with tails, the Evo Trail snowshoe may be unsuitable for users over 225 pounds, especially if use is attempted in soft snow deeper than 30 inches.
Two-section, aluminum MSR DynaLock Trail Poles employ a simple-to-use external locking mechanisms and have a usable adjustability range of 39.5" to 55". Durable, ergonomic molded grips with integrated straps provide confident hand holds. Long carbide tips deliver solid traction on trails, on soft ground, or in snow and broad winter baskets keep the poles from sinking too deeply into soft snow.
The included carry bag is constructed of rugged, abrasion-resistant nylon. The roll-top closure makes it easy to load and unloaded. Attachments on the exterior allow you to easily lash the poles and an integrated shoulder strap makes the bag easy to carry. MSR even throws in a small foam pad to serve as a dry seat in the snow!
