Description

The classic, best-selling The North Face Stormbreak 3 tent offers time-tested 3-season reliability and does so at a budget-friendly price. You get 2 doors, 2 vestibules, plenty of elbow room, and peace of mind.

Built to comfortably house up to three, the tent has a 39.72 square foot interior. Vestibules in front of the two large side doors offer an additional combined 21.6 square feet of sheltered external storage space. Dual zippers let you pitch the fly awning style with trekking poles (poles not included).

Freestanding structure is provided by lightweight, aluminum poles, but stakes are included to ensure a taut, secure pitch. The body of the tent is constructed of breathable 40D polyester mesh and durable 75D polyester taffeta. A unique configuration near the ceiling of the tent creates extra headroom and increases ventilation up high. The 75D polyester rainfly and 68D polyester floor have PU-coatings to ensure weather protection and all of tent’s seams are tape-sealed. The custom-fit Stormbreak 3 Footprint (sold separately) can be used to add durability by protecting the floor of the tent from mud, ground water, and sharp objects like rocks, exposed roots and pine needles.

  • Tent doors stuff into adjacent mesh pockets
  • Fully seam-taped canopy and floor
  • Easy-pitch design
  • Two doors and two twin-zip, multi-configuration vestibules
  • High-low ventilation for optimal airflow
  • Abundant headroom
  • Footprint and Tentertainment Center sold separately

Great water resistant tent with a few mild annoyances

Likes

Ease of set up Ample headroom for 2 Sleeps 2 and a Husky fairly well Multiple door opening options

Dislikes

Heavy if only 1 person is carrying but not bad if split between 2 people. (1 takes tent body and other takes rain fly and split poles and stakes equally. About 3 pounds each) Vestibule door zippers snag easily Not the greatest ventilation when vestibule doors are fully zipped Vestibule doors can let in rain when opening due to vertical positioning over tent body

Great tent

Likes

North Face Stormbreak 3 Tent is very light, Material seems very thin but it withstood 35-40 mph wind with no problems. Easy to setup, poles are flexible but tough. Full rainfly. Plenty of tie down points to anchor down. Cons, Anchor pins bend easily and I wish it came with four more to accommodate all the tie down points. Haven't tested for waterproof as yet. Overall, I would recommend this tent.

Dislikes

Rain fly zipper snags about ever 6 inches which is a real pain when you're opening and closing from the inside. Also the top section of rain fly, on non-door sides, touches the tent unless you have a perfect set-up, which means the long secondary cords have to be staked at exactly the proper angle. This can/will lead to wet head or feet when raining or even heavy overnight dew.
