More than an all-around backpacking pack, the Osprey Ariel Plus 60 Women's pack is at home whether you're spending a week on the trail or heading off on a gear-intensive weekend. With a stable women's specific fit and weight capacity of up to 60 pounds, this pack is ready to help you tackle technical terrain.
Constantly striving to enhance comfort and performance, Osprey has equipped the pack with a 3.5mm LightWire aluminum alloy peripheral frame and an Airscape injection-molded and die-cut framesheet. This design ensures optimal balance and weight distribution. The textured backpanel and foam harness maximize comfort and help reduce heat build-up between your back and the pack. Further enhancements to the fit are the Fit-on-the-Fly hipbelt and harness. The hipbelt has an adjustable extension and the ability to individually angle reinforced wings to fine tune the fit for any body shape. The shoulder straps have built-in adjustments that can be used to lengthen the shoulder wrap padding for an even more dialed in fit. A sliding sternum strap and adjustable load-lifter straps further enhance fit.
Accommodating backpackers of different heights and torso lengths, the pack is available in your choice of sizes. The Xsmall/Small size best fits torsos ranging from 13"-17" and the Medium/Large fits from 16"-20".
The pack's large main compartment is reached through a traditional top-loading access point but a zipper on the side of the pack also allows quick panel access to the interior. Additionally, a lower compartment serves as a dedicated spot for stowing your sleeping bag or other clothes and gear. A removable divider enables you to open up the interior to create a single spacious compartment. A large front shove-it pocket utilizes welded stretch woven fabric to serve as a convenient storage spot for discarded layers or other gear. Dual front panel zippered pockets offer even more storage and organizational options. Elastic side pockets are ideal for stashing water bottles or other smaller items. Integrated zippered hipbelt pockets provide a spot to keep essentials close at hand. Side and front panel compression straps enable you to cinch down your pack to keep contents safely and securely in place and also double as lash points for additional gear. A removable top lid with zippered pockets protects the contents of the pack and can be removed entirely to save weight. When the lid is not in use, a streamlined FlapJacket cover still protects the top entry so contents stay secure. The top lid also converts to a DayLid daypack, giving you a smaller pack for side excursions and summit attempts.
Other features include Stow-on-the-Go trekking pole attachments, a protective rain cover, dual ice axe loops with bungee tie-offs, and removable sleeping pad straps. An internal sleeve makes the pack hydration compatible (hydration system sold separately).
