Description

The revolutionary Anti-Gravity Suspension system in the Osprey Atmos AG 50 delivers an unparalleled balance of support and ventilation. Load-hauling capability and smart organization add to the pack's hard-earned trail cred.

An engineering work of art as much as a carrying system, Osprey's Anti-Gravity Suspension system equips the Atmos AG 50 with weight-carrying efficiency, breathability, and a contoured fit that'll nearly make you forget you have it on your back. A broad-mesh, tensioned backpanel stretches seamlessly from the shoulder straps all the way out across the hipbelt. Though the pack maintains constant, responsive contact with the wearer, warm air can escape freely because of the separation caused between the mesh and the pack itself. Innovative stiffeners in the load-lifters even enable the shoulder straps to stand away from your body without jeopardizing performance. Beneath the mesh, a lightweight aluminum frame provides support and distributes weight. A sliding sternum strap and an adjustable Fit-on-the-Fly hipbelt with extandable padded "fins" further enhance fit. Accommodating backpackers of different heights, the pack is available in your choice of sizes. The Small Atmos AG 50 fits torsos ranging from 16"-19", the Medium fits from 18"-21", and the Large accommodates torso lengths ranging from 20"-23". Built in adjustability in the harness makes it easy to reset the height of the shoulder straps to offer the best fit within those stated torso ranges.

Designed to comfortably carry 25-40 pounds of gear, the Atmos AG 50 lends versatility for outings ranging from overnight trips to fast-moving, light-packing extended backpacking trips. The Small size offers 2868 cubic inches of storage capacity, the Medium offers 3051 cubic inches, and the Large Atmos AG 65 has a 3234 cubic inch capacity. The main packbag has full top access and a divider between the main compartment and a separate front entry sleeping bag compartment allows for organization of wet and dry gear. When hauling longer items or in need of access between the two compartments, you can unbuckle the divider and convert the Atmos AG 50 to a single, large compartment.

A welded, stretch woven nylon pocket on the front of the pack allows you to stash extra layers or other gear. Dual zippered pockets located inside the floating lid of the Atmos AG 50 provide other organizational options. If you want to save weight and/or you are traveling light, you can remove the lid entirely and use the integrated, low-profile FlapJacket lid to keep the contents of the packbag fully protected. Side compression straps help you cinch down your load and also serve as lash points for additional gear. Stretch woven side pockets are the perfect place for stashing water bottles or other smaller items.

The pack has integrated trekking pole loops and an internal lined sleeve and dual exit ports combine to make the Atmos AG 50 hydration compatible (hydration system not included). Zippered mesh pockets on the hipbelt keep snacks and essential items within easy reach.

Constructed of lightweight, abrasion-resistant fabrics, the Osprey Atmos AG 50 is available in your choice of sizes and colors.

Good, if a bit heavy pack

Likes

Extremely comfortable. I use this pack for shorter hikes where I want more luxury and more weight.

Dislikes

Heavier than some options

Amazing Comfort

Likes

I tried a good number of multi-day packs and this is the ONE! I’m constantly trying to lighten my base weight but this is more than worth the weight. No soreness in the shoulders at the end of day, plenty of pockets and Ospreys amazing warranty. Get properly fitted and you are golden.

The Osprey Hug

I got this backpack due to the reviews on youtube hikers and fell in love with it as soon as i got it. Hold a lot and you definitely get that osprey hug from their suspension system. Comfortable pack.

Phenomenal pack, holds up great even in heavy bushwacking

Likes

I've hiked many hikes before, but I've always used older packs and my shoulders were always sore after the hike but after this past hike I felt no soreness. I took it on a bushwack for 7 straight days and it held up perfectly; no scratches, no rips. Even though I didn't buy the rain cover, the contents of my pack didn't get wet when it rained. The side pockets and hip pockets are extremely helpful for storing and easily accesing energy bars and rain jackets. The pockets for waterbottles makes it easy to access and put back your water bottles without having to stop while hiking. The brain can detach to make the pack smaller.

Dislikes

There's no day pack attached to the pack so if you want to go on a short hike from base camp, you need to bring the whole pack or carry a seperate day pack. The lower access to the pack for sleeping bags is not helpful if you have a bigger sleeping bag.

Great pack for just a day or a whole week

Likes

Very comfortable, ergonomic, and well-thought-out. I like the separate storage compartments in the airframe is definitely the most comfortable backpack I've used.

Dislikes

I don't know why but osprey cannot make hip belt pockets that work well at all lol

Very comfortable and durable

Likes

Plenty of room for a thru hike. Extremely comfortable and breathable. Make sure you know your torso size before you make a purchase. Sure it is a bit heavier than some other packs but it shouldn't matter since it feels much lighter than most packs. Terrific backpacking pack!

Dislikes

I wish Osprey had included a rain cover but they're cheap on amazon.

Atmos AG 50 - Outstanding pack

Likes

It's an awesome pack with a bunch of new features that really make the difference. The torso harness and the hipbelt pad can be easily adjust allowing to have a fully "customized" pack! I really like the AG Suspension system, it feels like the backpack "hugs" you, and it takes the whole weight off you back putting it on your waist. It also has a good size sleeping bags compartment for a 50liter bag. Happy with the purchase!!

Outstanding

Likes

This is a great bag with some nice organization that allows you to pack a lot of stuff. The material is great and the pack feels good when you have it on and adjusted. The bungie ties allow you to attach some things with paracord or whatever.

Really Great Pack

Likes

Large. Comfortable. Great color. The anti-gravity really helps the load not feel stressful to carry. The weight is distributed well. The straps were easy to adjust. Really like it!

Dislikes

Always like bigger hip pockets and the water bottles are not right where you can grab them. Overall great despite a few minor details.
