Description

Offering versatility for dayhiking, overnight outings, or ultra-lightweight weekend backpacking trips, the innovative Osprey Exos 38 weighs just over 2.5 pounds but comfortably carries up to 30 pounds.

An ultra-lightweight 6065 aluminum frame combines with a 3D tensioned breathable mesh backpanel to equip the pack with support and ventilation. Seamless layered mesh on the Exoform shoulder harness and hipbelt provides comfortable padding at minimal weight. Further enhancing fit, the hipbelt utilizes an ErgoPull closure that draws tension along the top and the bottom of the belt. An adjustable sternum strap and load-lifter straps allow you to make on-the-go fine-tuning.

Accommodating users of different dimensions, the pack is available in three sizes: Small best fits torsos ranging from 16"-19" in length, Medium accommodates torsos ranging from 18"-21", and the Large best fits 20"-23" torso lengths. The storage capacity varies based on size, as well: Small offers 2136 cubic inches, Medium provides 2319 cubic inches, and the Large has a 2502 cubic inch capacity.

The top-loading packbag is accessed through a removable, floating lid with dual zippered pockets. An integrated FlapJacket panel protects the main packbag if and when you aren't using the top lid. Stretch mesh pockets on the front and sides offer additional organizational options and keep gear and extra layers close at hand. A small dedicated stretch pocket on the shoulder strap is perfect for snacks, energy gels, or small electronics. Removable side compression straps aid in load transfer and allow you to cinch contents safely in place. Other features include an ice tool attachment loop, cord tie-off points, a small safety whistle integrated into the sternum strap buckle, and integrated, removable straps for lashing a sleeping pad. The pack is hydration system compatible (hydration system sold separately).

The Osprey Exos 38 internal frame backpack is available in your choice of size and color options.

Comfortable day-hike pack

Likes

This backpack allows plenty of airflow against the back, which every member of my family loves about it. It's light but has ample storage to pack for a day-long hike.

Dislikes

None.

Light weight, spacious, and comfortable!

Likes

Backpack is roomy and lightweight. I like that I can remove the top panel of the backpack. I find it very comfortable and a perfect size for a day hike or overnighter. If packed properly you could use it for a multiple night backpack trip.

Dislikes

The only dislike is no pockets on waist belt.

My new fave

Likes

Got this as a lighter weight alternative to my Atmos 65 for warmer weather trips. Read/heard many positive reviews of this pack and they weren’t wrong. This is my new favorite pack. Super light, amazing fit and feel, hugs the curve of my back perfectly. I’m 5’11”, 198lbs, for reference and got the Medium. Perfect fit for me. Taking it on a 3-day AT section hike in 2 weeks. Can’t wait.

Dislikes

I can’t find anything I don’t like about the pack. Tried and true favorite amongst the backpacking community for a reason. Great pack. Will be getting a 48L to bridge the gap between this one and my 65L Atmos.
