Description

Providing versatility for overnight trips or gear-heavy day hiking, the Osprey Kestrel 38 pack offers a comfortable suspension system with a breathable foam backpanel, storage capacity, and an integrated raincover.

This pack uses a lightweight peripheral frame with a foam framesheet to provide balanced, flexible and strong support for your load. The adaptable suspension system allows for torso adjustability.

The top-loading pack offers more than 2200 cubic inches of storage and there are plenty of places to stow your things. There's also a lower sleeping bag compartment with its own access point. The lid has an external zippered pocket and a zippered mesh pocket on the bottom. There is a hybrid shove-it pocket on the front of the pack and dual stretch mesh pockets on the sides. Two zippered pockets on the hip belt keep small items handy.

On the outside of the pack, you can use the two ice tool attachments or tuck them away if not needed. Two daisy chains mean that you can lash bulky or wet gear to the exterior. Special loops allow you to stow your trekking poles without even slowing down. The hydration pocket of this pack, capable of holding up to a 3-liter reservoir (not included), is located externally to save room inside the pack. A removable raincover is included so you’ll never be caught unprepared by bad weather.

The Osprey Kestrel 38 backpack is available in your choice of colors and sizes.

A comfortable pack

Likes

I purchased the Kestral 38 primarily for long day hikes, carrying plenty of water and in the winter, strapping on snowshoes and having room in the pack for the layers I add on or take off. The pack I purchased is a small/medium. It fit well when I tried it on with weight added to the pack. I did not have to adjust the length.
