Great Hiking Pack
Likes
Even though the Osprey Syncro is technically a 'biking' pack, I use it primarily for hiking. I am very picky about my gear, and I tried several other brands and models before settling on the Osprey Syncro 20. The Syncro 20 has a great suspension system that keeps it stable and comfortable on my back while providing good ventilation. I also really like the design of this pack, because it seems more 'streamlined' than most hiking packs this size. It has a thinner profile, the mesh pockets on the outside do not 'sag' like a lot of other packs, and there are not a bunch of unnecessary loops and attachments that can hang loose and get caught on things. This gives the pack a very clean look. Despite being streamlined and simple, Osprey added a lot of very practical features to this pack that I love: The front stash-pocket on the outside is great for securing a rain jacket, gloves, or hat. The compression straps on the sides are great and can also be used to secure trekking poles. One of the biggest advantages to this pack over others is the zippered organizational pockets inside one of the two main storage compartments. Although they are probably meant for bike tools, these organizational pockets work great for organizing small gear such as hand wipes, energy bars, medicine, power-banks, etc... Overall, I love this pack, and it is very versatile. Although it is best suited for hiking and/or mountain biking, it could also be used for daily commuting and travel (it is a good carry-on size that fits under an airline seat). I absolutely recommend it!
