Description

The panel loading Osprey Tempest 24 Women's daypack has a lightweight but supportive suspension system, bluesign-approved recycled fabrics, a multitude of technical features, and a 1300+ cubic inch storage capacity.

Committed to providing all outdoor enthusiasts with optimal performance, Osprey equips its women's packs with gender-specific design features. Harnesses are cut wider through the collar bone area and have an ergonomic taper in the chest area. Offering a women's specific cant and a narrower cut, the hipbelts found on Osprey's women's packs also cater to female users.

An injection-molded and die-cut Airscape backpanel lends the pack flexible support and maximizes breathability for combatting heat build-up between your back and the pack body. An adjustable Biostretch hipbelt and harness are also padded with die-cut foam and covered in spacer mesh to keep weight to a minimum. Together they enhance comfort and optimize fit. The hipbelt utilizes an ErgoPull closure that draws tension along the top and the bottom of the belt to draw the pack close into your lumbar to enhance maneuverability. Accommodating hikers of varying sizes, the pack is available in Xsmall/Small (best fits torso lengths ranging from 14"-17") and Medium/Large (16"-19") size options.

The storage capacity of the Xsmall/Small pack is 1343 cubic inches and the Medium/Large has a 1465 cubic inch capacity. The main compartment has a wide-mouth, bucket-style opening that provides broad access to the interior. A large stretch mesh front shove-it pocket, side stretch woven pockets, and a top panel zippered slash pocket offer additional organizational options. Large, zippered hipbelt pockets offer quick and easy access to other gear and trail essentials. Side compression straps enable you to cinch down the packbag to keep contents safely in place.

Other features include a Stow-on-the-Go trekking pole attachment, tuck-away ice axe attachments with bungee tie-offs, and a stretch mesh front harness pocket. A lined exterior compartment makes the pack hydration compatible (hydration system sold separately) and allows you to remove or refill your reservoir without having to access the interior of the pack.

The Osprey Tempest 24 Women's daypack is available in your choice of size and color options.

On the fence

Likes

Happy to report that the shoulder straps are indeed thicker than skimmer/Skarab and the duffle kit. I gave it a quick test run of 25 minutes at 28lbs of water + pack. No good. The next day a tried again with water + pack at 21 lbs for 60 minutes it was tolerable. But keep in mind this bag is not for me it’s for a petite 2nd and a stocky 3rd grader. It appears to fit them well enough. They should have no problem growing into also. The 2nd grader packed it full at 12lbs and walked about 2 miles in the neighborhood. She said “it was heavy but doable.” I’m still on the fence with this pack. I’ve waited so long for it’s arrival and now that it’s in my hands I’m a bit disappointed. Don’t get me wrong it’s very aesthetically pleasing. I appreciate the layout of all the pockets, something that was lacking on the Deuter Trail Pro 30 sl. A separate hydration compartment is always practical in my book.

Dislikes

Although the straps are thicker than the skimmer/skarab series in my opinion they could have been more. The most important feature to me is indeed so.
