Description

Consisting of waterproof breathable GORE-TEX shells and insulated removable liners Outdoor Research Alti Gloves are built to tackle 8000 meter peaks Arctic expeditions and extremely cold conditions.

Fully seam taped and constructed of waterproof breathable ripstop GORE-TEX fabric the Alti Gloves are truly weatherproof. Both the waterproof shells and the removable liners have comfortable tricot interiors. Liked Quality - Returned

Likes

The quality seemed great - heavier - warm

Dislikes

Was stiff - maybe it loosens over time, but was looking for more flexibility for out of bounds skiing .. felt it would be tough to grip.

Great gloves

Likes

- Warm gloves; finger tips get cold around -5F. - Liner glove with dummy cord is a plus. - 3D fit takes a little getting used to but fit feels more natural.

Dislikes

- Fingers still get cold on ski lifts. - Liner glove is not very waterproof. - Outer glove is boxy/little dexterity.

Great gloves

The liners are amazing, comfortable and warm on their own. The gloves are as advertised, some of the best you can get.

Excellent glove system

Likes

This glove comes with a liner, which can be removed. The outer shell is insulated, can be used on its own, with the glove's own liner, or your own liner. The outer shell is made some synthetic material, very durable, goretex waterproof. This is a serious winter glove system.

Would be 5 stars if the fit were better...

Likes

These are very warm. As soon as I received them, I took them out on a very casual stroll in a State Park in New England. The windchill was -20*F. At one point, I had my hands bare - normally, in that weather, it's pretty much game over even if I pull my gloves back on unless I resort to hand warmers or ball up my hands like mittens. Amazingly, these gloves were so warm that I didn't need to do that. My fingers were able to warm up on their own.

Dislikes

Two things prevented me from giving this 5 stars: 1) The fit is a bit weird. I bought a large because I have long fingers. The palms are definitely a bit wide for my hands (no big deal) but the internal liners fit more like an XL. The fingers and palms are too big. The outer shells, however, are just the opposite. The fingers are too short! It detracts from their comfort a bit. Still, I'm happy to have them because they are so warm. Perhaps the short fingers was intentional; it allows the bottom part of the fingers to share airspace and stay warmer - kind of a mitten / glove hybrid. 2) The liners are supposed to be touch screen compatible. They are not. Bummer. Oh well... at -20*F, most touch screen devices don't work anyhow!
