More substantial than many pared down insulated jackets, the Outdoor Research Men's Coldfront Down Vest utilizes both synthetic insulation and an ample amount of 700+ fill down insulation as well as a durable face fabric to offer serious warmth for backcountry activities or around-town adventures.
The exterior and lining of the vest are constructed of wind- and water-resistant 30D polyester double ripstop that includes recycled content. It is insulated with lightweight and compressible 700+ fill power responsibly sourced down. Renowned for their compressible properties and efficiency in providing insulation, the feathers and fibers of down have an incredibly soft comfortable feel and continue to provide the best warmth-to-weight ratio of any insulation available. Synthetic insulation on the tops of the shoulders increases the vest's weather resistance and helps prevent heat from escaping in this key area. Due to the high loft and compressibility of down, the vest can even be packed into its own pocket and easily stowed in a pack.
Other features include zippered hand pockets with brushed tricot linings, interior drop-in pockets and an elastic drawcord adjustment at the hem.
