Description

A versatile cold-weather midlayer or cool-weather outerwear piece the Patagonia Men's Micro Puff Jacket utilizes innovative synthetic insulation to rival the compressibility of down jackets but do so with better all-weather reliability. It weighs all of 8.3 ounces!

The 10D Pertex Quantum face fabric is extremely lightweight surprisingly durable windproof and treated with a durable water repellent finish to fend off light rain. The PlumaFill insulation mimics the structure of down while offering more consistent performance in damp or wet conditions. Quilted construction used minimal stitching to keep the insulation stabilized and evenly distributed to eliminate migration and cold spots.

Other features include elasticized cuffs an elasticized hem a full-length zipper with an internal storm flap a zipper garage at the chin and two zippered hand warmer pockets. The left pocket even doubles as a stuff sack for the jacket.

With a regular fit that anticipates layering beneath it or over top the Patagonia Men's Micro Puff Jacket is available in your choice of size and color options.

  • Ultralight nylon ripstop Pertex Quantum shell is water-resistant windproof and treated with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish
  • PlumaFill insulation replicates the structure of down in a continuous synthetic insulation material offering the warmth packability and feel of down but with the warm-when-wet performance of synthetic insulation
  • Innovative quilting construction complements the insulation by stabilizing and maximizing the loft of the PlumaFill strands with minimal stitching
  • Center-front zipper has storm flap and zipper garage at chin for next-to-skin comfort
  • Two welted zippered handwarmer pockets and two internal drop-in pockets; left pocket doubles as a stuffsack with a reinforced carabiner clip-in loop
  • Elasticized cuffs and hem seal in warmth

Great purchase.

Great purchase. Live in Oregon and need a waterproof spring coat with our wacky weather. Wish the good was not attached but still worth it.

Great purchase.

Warm, light weight and packable

Likes

Very nice 3-season jacket for backpacking. Plenty warm, especially for a synthetic fill. Light weight. Folds up into one of its pockets for easy storage in a backpack. Synthetic fill makes it simpler to clean and dry out. Really enjoyed this in the backcountry of Montana. Temps maybe touched the upper forties at the coldest on early mornings but this felt like it could handle even colder temps with some layering. Great substitute for my heavier fleece jacket.

Dislikes

Just like Enwild’s review mentions, this has a thin outer fabric that could tear easily if you were walking through brush, branches or thorns. Hasn’t been an issue yet but something to watch out for.

Super Great Jacket

Likes

This is an Absolute SPECTACULAR jacket! Spectacular! I ordered the jacket the Wed before thanksgiving and it still got here on Friday. But a great, great jacket. Ultralight and extremely warm. I tested it today. Wearing my Terrarmar baselayer shirt with my terrarmar synthetic shirt and this jacket in 33 degree kind of breezy weather today and I actually got kind of stuffy (I’m a warm natured person though). I can’t wait to take it on the trail. Thanks Backcountry edge for your ridiculously fast shipping and having such great products.

Dislikes

A little pricey, but for the weight and the warmth, NO complaints.

Light, warm and packs small!

Likes

Just as warm and light as advertised. XL was only 9.5 oz! First use was cold overnight and in the morning (low 30's) and I was very comfortable in nothing but this jacket and a base layer.

Dislikes

The cut is a little weird. XL normally fits me perfectly, but in this case there is definitely a little bulk in the chest and mid section. Wish the cut was a little slimmer. Otherwise great.
