Description

The Patagonia Women's Down Sweater utilizes ethically sourced featherweight 800 fill power goose down to deliver reliable warmth for everything from backpacking to climbing to wear around town. A durable water repellent finish offers weather-resistance.

Due to the high loft and compressibility of the 800 fill-power European goose down the Down Sweater can be packed into its own interior stretch mesh stuff-sack pocket (with reinforced carabiner clip-in loop) and pulled from your pack or a climbing harness when you need extra warmth. Patagonia's Traceable Down is verified by an independent third-party organization to be ethically sourced from geese that are not live-plucked or used in foie gras production.

An ultra-lightweight and windproof 100% recycled polyester ripstop shell with high abrasion resistance is treated with Patagonia's Deluge DWR (durable water repellent) finish for increased weather resistance. Bound elastic cuffs and a drawcord hem seal in warmth and keep drafts out. Two zippered hand warmer pockets with water resistant zippers are ready to warm chilly hands.

With a regular fit that accommodates layering the Patagonia Women's Down Sweater is available in a variety of color and size options.

  • Windproof

So warm, so lightweight

Likes

When this jacket was delivered, I picked up the small bag and thought "There's no way this could be my jacket. This bag almost feels empty." Such an incredibly lightweight jacket that packs a punch when it comes to warmth and wind protection. It's almost unbelievable. I've worn it outside on windy winter days and don't feel a thing on my arms or torso. I love how the wrist cuffs are a bit cinched and elastic, in order to keep the cold and wind out. As for the fit and size, I'm 5'2", 115 lbs and I purchased a small. It fits beautifully. Snug enough where it doesn't feel bulky. But enough room where I can still wear a thick shirt or sweater underneath and not feel constricted in any way. It's also very stylish! Two of my coworkers have expressed how "sharp" it looks and now they want one for themselves. Being my first piece of patagonia apparel, it has already lived up to the hype. I'm so glad I made this purchase.

Dislikes

No dislikes, just concerns. One of the feathers poked through and fell out the other day. I was expecting this but I'm hoping it doesn't happen all that often. Even though I treat this jacket like a fragile baby, I do wonder how easily the material would tear if I ever snagged it on anything. Hopefully I never find out!

Basic Down Jacket

Likes

Light weight and easy to pack. It packs down well and occupies little space. Product is environmentally conscious and provides those who cars about sustainability an option to contribute towards that initiative.

Dislikes

Internal zipper snags often and other brands offer similar performance/ warmth at a more competitive pricing if environmental responsibility is not within your priorities.

Good Basic

Likes

Extremely lightweight, easily packs down for travel. I'm 5'4" and weigh about 135#, size medium works well to allow for layering. Fits as expected.

Dislikes

Definitely requires layering as temps drop.

Great jacket

Likes

Love the light weight and the warmth. Good for early and late season skiing, plus everyday wear around town.

Dislikes

That it only comes in S, M, and L. I'm between a M and a Large. 6,8,10, 12 etc would be better!

Great jacket

Likes

I used this jacket for a year and liked it so much that I bought one as a gift. I use it for winter hiking and find it comfortable into the teens and single digits. I wear a men's small. I am 5' 2" and 125 lbs. I like the men's for the extra length.

Dislikes

Can't think of anything. The jacket is sized smaller than other brands.

Warm, compact, great insulation

Likes

I love this down sweater. Mostly used as an outer layer for around town, but also as a mid layer under a weatherproof shell when sitting for long periods of time in a blind while photographing wildlife. It's well worth the price. Keeps me warm but isn't bulky.

Perfect fit and great for layering

Likes

I like that this jacket is lightweight and packable. It is great for layering since you can fit a fleece underneath and a waterproof shell on top. Pockets and stylish/retro appearance.

Dislikes

I wish it was slightly warmer when worn on its own
