Description

A protective case for your headlamp (sold separately), the innovative Petzl Noctilight adds even more versatility by allowing the headlamp to convert into a backpacking or camping lantern.

The interior of the case is large enough to house most Petzl headlamps (excluding Nao, Ultra, Duo, and Spelios models) and their headbands. Nestled inside, your headlamp is completely protected from the wear-and-tear of backcountry travel. A light-diffusing panel on one end of the case allows light to pass through to illuminate your tent or campsite. The soft sides of the case allow you to operate the push-button of your headlamp to adjust brightness without having to open the case.

The Noctilight has a flat bottom that gives it freestanding structure. It can also be hung from the ceiling of a tent or clipped onto your waistbelt.

The Noctilight keeps my Tactikka CORE headlamp protected and organized, with additional room for a spare Petzl CORE battery or a few AAA batteries. The bottom is more orange than red, and that makes it easy to spot in my pack. It’s compact enough to take backpacking, but when I’m not on the trail I keep it at my nightstand with my headlamp for an emergency lantern.

This is perfect for dual purpose action on the headlamp. I love that the case is a softer plastic so I don't have to worry about it cracking or breaking. Genius.

Works very well with my Black Diamond Storm headlamp. The fit is a little snug but serviceable. Diffuses the light well, protects the headlamp, and is a nice compact size.

Dislikes

The attached cord for hanging could be better, maybe just a caribiner. Although not an issue for my waterproof Storm, using a waterproof zipper would be much better for the Petzl headlamps.

Excellent for hanging from tent roof or on the tent floor for lower light pollution. Nice it can be turned on without unzipping.

Dislikes

Could be difficult to put in larger lamp. I used the pretzel actik. Was just small enough to fit but was snug.
