Description

The Salomon Men's Ultra Glide is your go-to shoe for all-day trail running comfort. With ample underfoot cushioning, a rocker shape, grippy outsole, and lightweight construction, this shoe is designed for extended trail adventures.

The minimalist mesh upper utilizes seamless construction to provide a close-hugging fit, cut down on potential hot spots, and maximize breathability. Fit is assured with the lightweight QuickLace system and a streamlined pocket in the tongue allows you tuck away any excess lacing.

Underfoot the shoe is responsive but employs maximum cushioning for ultra distances. SensiFit wings hug your foot within the shoe to provide a secure feel. A dual-density Energy Surge EVA and Olefin midsole deliver cushioning and energy return to cut down on the fatigue from long days of pushing hard. Borrowing from Salomon's ski heritage, the midsole is curved to encourage quick turnover and promote an efficient stride. A molded Ortholite sockliner further enhances fit and comfort.

With a 38.2mm heel and 32.2mm forefoot the shoe has a moderate 6mm drop. A versatile Contagrip MA rubber outsole balances durability and flexible responsiveness so you enjoy confident traction on wet or dry surfaces and hard-packed or loose terrain.

Salomon Ultra Glide Trail Runner

1. Quick Lace system for ease of adjustment during a run if shoes are too tight or loose 2. Breathability is great. My feet do not get wet even when running in warmer weather. On 10 and 12 mile runs I have not gotten blisters. 3. Cushioning seems to be the right blend of comfort and stability. I feel some shoes are too rigid (think approach shoes) and some too cushioned for ground feel (think certain hoka types). 4. Durability seems good as I have put many miles on the shoes. I love that the tread looks nearly new in terms of tread depth. The sole and upper look like they will last a while, just a matter of when I want to try a new pair of trail runners.

Dislikes

I like the Super Feet inserts I added to the shoe, it really customized the feel, I wish running shoe companies would offer better selection of good inserts.
