Named for a festival at which Nepalese farmers celebrate the day of planting new seedlings the Sherpa Adventure Gear Women's Asaar 2.5-Layer Jacket offers ultra-lightweight waterproof/breathable protection with aesthetic touches that speak to its Himalayan heritage.

The jacket is constructed of laminated nylon double ripstop fabric that offers mobility-enhancing 4-way stretch a soft "hand" and excellent abrasion-resistance. The lining has a dry touch finish that improves next-to-skin comfort while helping to maximize breathability. This construction results in reliable weather protection at a weight of just 6.4 ounces.

Other features include a Lycra-bound adjustable hood harness-and-backpack compatible seam placement an adjustable hem Nepal-inspired trims and two hand pockets. One of the pockets even doubles as a stuff sack for the jacket.

Available in your choice of size and color options the Sherpa Adventure Gear Women's Asaar 2.5-Layer Jacket has a standard fit that allows it be worn over baselayers and midlayers.

  • A waterproof breathable hard shell with stretch for comfort during movement
  • Seam sealed 3-layer shell fabric has a 20 000mm/20 000g/m2/24h waterproof/breathable rating
  • Helmet compatible hood has a bonded brim to help protect your face from the weather; fit can be refined via a multi-cinch system at center back bottom and on either side of hood opening
  • Napoleon chest pocket expands into yoke which will hold goggles
  • Interior zip pocket includes a media port
  • Large zippered hand pockets are placed high as not to interfere with a harness or pack belt
  • Venting pit zips have welted two-way zipper with DWR (durable water-repellent) finish
  • Hem can be cinched in via side adjusters
  • 27" center back length

Waterproof with limit

This is a light jacket, very convenient to travel. I like the color.

Dislikes

The first time I wore my jacket under a real rain for 30 minutes, my phone in my pocket didn't survive. At the chest I was wet inside. But down, at the belly level the jacket did its job. I was carrying a backpack with the attachment liner maybe it was the pressure of it that made the water come in after a while. I'm not sure this jacket is the equivalent of a GoreTex (as said by the SHERPA's customer service). I admit for the price of this jacket I am disappointed. It is a new one, I don't know if there is any guarantee ?
