The Sierra Designs Men's Joshua Vest utilizes weather-resistant down insulation to provide lightweight warm for cold-weather outdoor activities. It can also serve double-duty as an insulating midlayer.

Renowned for their compressibility and efficiency in retaining heat the feathers and fibers of down have an incredibly soft comfortable feel and despite advances in synthetic materials continue to provide the best warmth-to-weight ratio of any insulation available. The one inherent weakness of down insulation is that it loses much of its ability to maintain warmth when it gets wet but the jacket's 800-fill DriDown performs differently. Employing a unique innovative polymer application DriDown actually creates a hydrophobic finish on each individual plume of down. This treatment results in insulation that stays dry 10 times longer and dries 30% faster than untreated down. Perhaps most impressively this allows the insulation to retain 2 times more loft than untreated down which translates into maintained warmth that untreated down simply cannot achieve. A polyester ripstop shell further protects the insulation from the elements.

Other features include two zippered hand warmer pockets an inside kangaroo pocket an insulated yoke and a zippered chest pocket. For convenience the jacket packs inside one of the zippered pockets when not in use.

Available in your choice of color and size options the Sierra Designs Men's Joshua Vest fits well over baselayers and low-profile midlayers.

Very nice vest

Thin and lightweight, this vest adds the extra warmth that you need over a shirt on cool days, and under a jacket on cold days. I purchased a medium size which fits me snugly and I am 5’ 10” and 155 pounds. So size seems true but also a tad on the small size

None really. I did think it would be thicker and heavier when I order it but it does the job so can’t complain

A little tight and long

The vest has a good design of the baffles and I do like the look overall. It felt like it would be very warm.

This ran smaller than I was expecting. I would need to order an XL (normally a M-L in t-shirts, L in down jackets) for me to be able to wear anything underneath. However even with the medium, the length was very long. In order to feel normal, I had to bunch the bottom up a bit.

Great Vest--A Little Narrow, Though

This vest, unlike many, has plenty of feathers and high loft. It's soft and, like all Sierra Designs products I've owned, is very well made. I like that it comes down a little lower in the back to keep both my bottom and top warm.

I'm 5'8" tall, 160 lbs, and I have broad shoulders and a larger-than-average chest, so the medium vest is a little narrow in the chest and underarms areas. I have owned similar vests by other companies (e.g. Patagonia, Mountain Hardwear) and have never had a problem wearing a medium. If you're my size, and you have broad shoulders/chest (or belly), then I think sizing up to a large would be a problem, though, because of the length.
