A hybrid between sleeping bag and a quilt
Likes
Wow, this is comfortable. I mean, really comfortable. First, I am a guy reviewing a women's bag because I have found women's bags in general a little warmer and roomier, which is good for me as an older, smaller guy, side sleeper, and a cold sleeper. This item is very unique and appears to me as both a sleeping bag and a quilt with the advantages of each, and few or none of the disadvantages. The bottom half from the thighs down is like an overstuffed sleeping bag, the top half is like a loaded top quilt. No down underneath from your rear to head so your pad fits in a sleeve and keeps you warm, just like using a quilt, plus it has a hood - big enough to hold a pillow. You climb in from the top without a zipper and pull the top quilt over your shoulder, and the sides are sealed when you move around. Nothing to not like here. That said, I will need to give it a genuine warmth test when the weather cooperates this spring - but it sure feels warm. The "Comfort" ISO rating on the tag is 24F, and that's not too shabby. Lastly, there are vents in the top and bottom if it gets too warm: flip the quilt top down part way for the top, and there are hidden escape pockets for your feet to poke out at the bottom. They thought of everything.

Only two. The listed tag weight is getting heavier at 2lbs 10 oz., possibly owing to the 650 fill down instead of the previous model's 700 fill down, and this is the warmer-rated women's version (the men's version is rated ISO 28F). So while not "heavy" for an ISO 24F comfort-rated bag, it isn't UL either. A goodnight's sleep in exchange for an extra 1.5 lb of weight is worth it for average folks not doing an expedition. The other very minor complaint is that the color choice is limited to one: plum. The plum is a fine color and not hot pink or anything - but not particularly woodsy or natural.
