The versatile Ultimate Direction Ultra Vest 5.0 effectively balances weight and performance in providing at-the-ready hydration for long-distance trail running or ultra-lightweight fast packing. Despite weighing just 6.3 ounces (without bottles), the vest carries everything you need for long days on the trail.

The pack is constructed of lightweight Sil/nylon and breathable stretch mesh. To ensure a proper fit, the vest is available in four sizes that are based on your chest measurement. The Small best fits 23"-32" chest sizes, the Medium best fits 30"-39" chest sizes, the Large best fits 37"-46" chest sizes, and the Xlarge best fits 44"-52" chests. Dual sternum straps with sliding adjustability help to fine-tune fit and an integrated Comfort Cinch 2.0 system provides on-the-go fit adjustability across the small of your back without applying undue pressure to your lats.

Storage options abound, and the pack has a total capacity of 659 cubic inches. The main compartment offers ample storage for a 2L hydration reservoir (hydration system sold separately), clothes, and other gear. A rear zig-zag bungee attachment system is ideal for securing gloves, discarded layers, or other items you want to keep readily accessible. On the chest portion of the harness there are large front pockets which conveniently secure electronics or water bottles. Ultimate Direction includes two soft-sided Body Bottle II 500 which together provide 1000ml of at-the-ready hydration. Other features include additional zippered front harness pockets and phone-compatible harness pockets. A rear attachment system allows you to carry poles in a horizontal fashion that reduces "bounce" and keeps poles at the ready but out of your way. If you prefer to carry poles up front, there are also attachment points that allow you to lash them directly to the harness.
