Created for thru-hikers and backpackers looking for a lightweight pack without sacrificing dependability and comfort, the Deuter Aircontact Ultra 45+5 SL Women's backpack has an adjustable back length system to dial in your fit and modular gear straps to adapt to your needs on the trail.

Deuter's SL packs are designed to fit a woman's form, as well as narrower and shorter builds that might not experience the best fit from standard-sized packs. The hipbelt has a conical shape to provide a proper anatomical fit for wider hips, and the shoulder straps are set closer together, are narrower and shorter in length, and have a distinct S-shape and narrower tapered strap ends to prevent chafing under the arms and eliminate pressure points in the chest area.

Built around the concept that it's easier to carry heavy loads when the backpack and wearer form a single entity, Deuter's Aircontact back system brings the pack weight close to the body and therefore the center of gravity. This system results in full pack control for the wearer and effective load transfer. The padded cushioning is made from extremely porous Air Spacer Mesh to keep air moving throughout the back system and allow warm air to escape while cooler air is drawn in. Soft, breathable fabrics on the contoured shoulder straps and hipbelt further help to keep you cool and comfortable on the trail. A spring steel frame offers a balance of rigidity and flexibility, effectively distributing weight. The harness adjusts using a lightweight clip and loop system to easily to provide optimal comfort and load distribution. The shoulder and hipbelt straps are adjustable for a truly personalized fit.

This streamlined pack has top-loading access through a spindrift collar that's under the floating lid. Inside there is a stretch compartment to help with gear organization. There's also an extra 5 liters of capacity in the collar just in case you need some extra space. The detachable lid has a large, zippered pocket. On the outside, there are two stretch mesh pockets on the sides and one on the front. Gear loops and modular gear straps give you the flexibility to attach additional gear and compress the pack load. Don't need the straps? Take them off and leave them at home!

Other features include two zippered mesh hipbelt pockets, gear loops on the shoulder straps, and an SOS label for quick reference. The pack is hydration compatible, though a hydration system is sold separately.
