The large-capacity Mystery Ranch Scepter 50 is a versatile pack that's been rigorously designed and tested to provide the features you need on a technical alpine or ice climbing adventure. Highly durable construction grants the pack year-round durability.
Structural support is provided by a flexible, high-density frame sheet and dual composite stays. A compression molded foam backpanel sheds snow and keeps ice from building up. Contoured, padded shoulder straps and a padded hipbelt enhance fit and aid in load balance. Load-lifter straps and an adjustable sternum strap allow you to make fine-tuned fit adjustments. Available in two sizes, the Small/Medium can be adjusted to fit torso lengths ranging from 15" to 20," while the Large/XLarge can be adjusted for torso lengths from 17" to 24." The alpine waistbelt and hipbelt padding can be removed if desired, and the buckle of the sternum strap also doubles as a safety whistle.
A side zipper on the front and drawstring opening at the top provide access into the main pack bag. There is also a front stash pocket that opens where the lid attaches to the front of the pack. Carbonite-coated fabric lines this pocket, making it rugged enough for crampons. This pocket can also be used for a snow safety kit, as there are three dividers for a shovel handle, probe, and a saw. A helmet can be stored between the lid and the top of the pack. Two zippered organizer pockets, one accessible from the outside of the pack near the lid, help keep the essentials close at hand. The hipbelt also has sled tie-in loops and webbing loops for other tools.
Exterior compression straps can be used to cinch down the pack, secure tools and gear, or carry skis. Tool loops, daisy chain attachment points, and more carbonite-coated fabric on the front of the pack ensure that your gear is protected and secure when on the move. An extra compression strap on the lid can be used with the side straps to secure a rope. All buckles are designed to be easy to use with gloves or mittens.
