Is 8x25 or 10x25 better for me?
Either option does a great job of bringing objects closer, but there are some tradeoffs regardless of which model you choose. The 8x25 optics provide a wide field of view (357 feet) with magnification like a 400mm lens. The 10x25 optics have a narrower field of vision (315 feet) but have a higher magnification similar to a 500mm lens. The compromise on getting the increased magnification is that it offers a less stable handheld image and the image itself will be less bright than the one provided at the 8x magnification. To interpret that more straightforwardly, the 10x magnification will get you a "closer" view but it can be a bit more challenging to locate the object you want to view.
