Another high-performance lighting innovation from Petzl, the "no bounce" Iko CORE 500 offers unparalleled balanced stability and brilliant brightness (at an incredibly light weight (2.8 oz). A hybrid design provides the rechargeable headlamp with the versatility to be powered by alkaline batteries.
A common complaint for headlamps is unnecessary bounce or movement and Petzl addressed this with a unique Airfit headband that stows the power source comfortably behind your head. Once adjusted, the headlamp feels almost imperceptible whether it's worn directly on your head or over a hat or other headwear. You can even wear it around your neck or place it inside the included stuff sack to create a backpacking/camping lantern! The lamp is also compatible with all Petzl helmets (not included), making it a great option for climbing.
The light's included 1250 mAh CORE rechargeable battery engages rows of LED bulbs to produce a super bright 500 Lumens beam. A micro USB port on the battery makes it quick and easy to recharge. If you're on an extended trip without access to a charging option, the headlamp will also accept three AAA alkaline batteries (note that the max brightness is reduced to 350 Lumens with alkalines).
A simple to use push button allows you to toggle between Low (flood), Medium (mixed), and High (mixed) brightness settings. Burn time between the settings varies from 2 hours and 30 minutes on maximum to 100 hours on the lowest setting. A charge indicator confirms whether or not the battery needs recharged.
