While backpacking boots are known for their stability, they can also be heavy and cumbersome. The lightweight Salomon Men's Quest 4 GTX boot draws upon Salomon's trail running heritage to offer waterproof protection and excellent support while not compromising on responsiveness or agility.
The boot features a nubuck leather and water-resistant textile upper that provides a comfortable, supportive fit. Strategic overlays improve durability and increase stability. A waterproof/breathable GORE-TEX bootie keeps feet dry. Extended padding above the protective rubber heel cup delivers extra comfort while stretch fabric at the top rear of the boot teams with a gusseted tongue to help keep dust and debris from sneaking inside. A rubber toe cap protects your toes from rocks and roots.
Under foot, Salomon's ADV-C 4D Chassis cradles your heel, protects your ankle, and provides extra stability and support to reduce fatigue during long days on the trail. Best of all, it does so with less weight and bulk than traditional stiff leather hiking boots. An EnergyCell foam midsole maximizes comfort and together with an OrthoLite insole delivers cushioning and optimal fit.
The Contagrip TD outsole utilizes a rugged rubber compound and a deep, aggressive lug pattern to provide excellent traction on mixed terrain and ensure long-term durability.
