Description
The Sea to Summit Ember EbIII quilt is lightweight, packable, and extremely versatile. It weighs around 2 pounds and is rated down to 20 degrees F as a stand-alone source of insulation. You can also layer the quilt over the top of another bag to bolster warmth in colder conditions.
The bag is insulated with premium 850+ Premium fill Ultra-Dry Down insulation. Renowned for their efficiency in retaining heat and compressible properties, the feathers and fibers of down have an incredibly soft, comfortable feel and, despite advances in synthetic materials, continue to provide the best warmth-to-weight ratio of any insulation available. The one weakness of down insulation is that it loses much of its ability to maintain warmth when it gets wet, but the Ember’s insulation has been treated to add water-repellency, allow it to dry faster if it should become wet, and, most importantly, enable it to retain much of its insulating qualities even while wet. Vertical and horizontal baffles keep the insulation from migrating and causing cold spots.
You can use this lightweight quilt like a traditional blanket when it’s warm. When the mercury falls, utilize the drawcord at the bottom to create a foot pocket. Integrated strap-and-snap systems secure the quilt to a sleeping pad (pad sold separately) for enhanced warmth.
The Sea to Summit Ember EbIII quilt is available in your choice of Regular (fits to 6’) and Long (fits to 6’ 4”) size options.
- Ultra-light 10D shell and 7D lining for minimal weight and packed size
- Super-compressible Responsible Down Standard-certified 850+ Loft Premium Goose Ultra Dry Down
- Increased sizing for greater ‘wrapping’ capability in colder conditions
- Multiple configurations for versatility across temperatures and environments
- Two Embers can be snapped together to make a double quilt
- Versatile system to secure quilt to your mat
- Uses box baffles throughout, with vertical baffles strategically placed on chest section to keep down in place
- NOTE: the buttons of the EbIII are only compatible with another Ember
