The Altra Running Women's Tushar Mid is a lightweight waterproof hiking boot that borrows some of the performance-oriented features of its running siblings but throws in extra protection stability and durability for hikers and backpackers.

As with all Altra offerings the boot has a FootShape toe box that differs greatly from the aggressive taper of traditional shoes and boots. This design lets your big toe remain in a straight position while allowing your other toes to spread naturally. This broader cut reduces the risk of bunions hammer toes and plantar fasciitis. The shoe also utilizes a Zero Drop platform (height of the heel and the forefront are the same) that encourages a natural stride rather than elevating the heel or manipulating foot position. This is meant to promote better alignment and a more natural posture while on the move which in turn lessens impact.

The boot's mid-height upper is made of reinforced abrasion-resistant synthetic materials with strategic overlays to aid in lateral stabilization improve overall stability and extend the life of the boot even in challenging conditions and after tons of miles. The 1000D eVent fabric offers durable waterproof protection while ensuring breathability to keep your feet dry and comfortable.

A polyurethane midsole offers comfortable support with built-in compression resistance for long-term performance. An InnerFlex design helps to reduce weight promote flexibility and maintain cushioning.
