Amazing Service

Because you deserve it.

The Asolo Fugitive GTX backpacking boot offers support and protection on varied types of terrain. A leather and nylon upper with GORE-TEX construction provides reliable, waterproof breathable performance for day hikes or extended backpacking trips.

Description

Ideal for day hikes or extended backpacking trips the Asolo Fugitive GTX backpacking boot offers support and protection on varied types of terrain. Leather construction and a full GORE-TEX bootie provide reliable waterproof/breathable performance while high tenacity nylon offers a comfortable fit with an easy break-in period.

Weighing roughly 3 pounds per pair the Fugitive GTX is suitable for day hikes or longer trips with a pack weight of up to 30 pounds. The top of the boot is stiff yet pliable enough to snug the Fugitive GTX tight around your ankle. A rubber toe rand helps to defend against stubbed toes and extends the life of the boot.

Under foot you'll find a Duo Asoflex men's lasting board to protect the bottom of your foot from the impact of roots and rocks as well as a Polyurethane midsole to help cushion your foot on long hikes. The outsole of the Fugitive GTX is an exclusive Asolo Syncro bi-density rubber which features an Asobrake heel design for better traction on steep descents. A speed lacing system at the ankle of the Fugitive GTX allows for quick lacing and fit adjustments. Durable metal hardware is a cut above what you'll find on many competitors' boots.

Sold in pairs the Asolo Fugitive GTX backpacking boot is available in men's full and half sizes. To keep the leather on this boot in good shape and to prevent water absorption in the upper for the life of the boot you should apply a fabric and leather conditioner and waterproofing treatment (both sold separately).

  • GORE-TEX performance comfort footwear lining
  • Duo Asoflex men's lasting board

Rugged and durable material. Minimal break-in time No hot spots High quality boot worth the money

Dislikes

Very warm boot, feet run hot as is and boots do not ventilate too well.

Solid Boot

So far, they've performed really well on 4 winter day-hikes, and lots of walking around NYC. It's true that they are a little slippery on wet surfaces at first, but that improves as you wear them (maybe a coating comes off). By the second hike and 5th day of wearing them (after 1 hike and 3 days at work) I had no problem scrambling over wet rocks on a decently steep, snowy, and kinda icy trail. One of the first things I noticed as they started to break in, which doesn't take long by the way, is that my stride felt really nice in these. They are stiff, heavy, and supportive, but don't slow me down or feel cumbersome. The water resistance is solid. I dunked them into a stream up to the bottom of my ankles multiple times on my last trip out and no water leaked in. I like the look a lot. My friend told me they looked like the kind of boots a Gundam pilot would wear, and that's 100% a complement in my book.

Dislikes

They run a little narrow in the toe box. They are very warm. They probably won't be my first choice for summer treks, but I have loved using them in colder weather.
