Description

A feature-rich option for 3-season camping, the four-person Big Agnes Bunk House 4 offers a ton of internal storage, excellent overhead clearance, and integrated external space for storage or campsite lounging.

Fifty-eight square feet of interior space provides the tent with elbow room for up to 4 inhabitants. Two large doors make it easy to come and go and two integrated vestibules combine to provide 47 square feet of external storage space. The front vestibule alone offers 33 square feet of coverage and its awning-style door can be configured to convert the front of the tent to a sunshade.

Removable corner bin pockets and additional internal mesh pockets provide dedicated places to stash clothes and gear. Two internal media pockets enable headphone/ear bud cord routing from phones or other devices. Integrated gear loft loops offer a connection point for the Big Agnes Trapezoid Gear Loft (sold separately).

Lightweight DAC aluminum poles lend freestanding structure to the tent. Color-coded pole ends, grommet webbing, and buckles make it easy to attach the poles to the clips and sleeves of the tent body. Sturdy aluminum hook stakes are included to further secure the pitch of the freestanding tent.

Coated with 1500mm waterproof polyurethane, the polyester floor and rainfly are extremely durable. All of the tent's seams are seal-taped to further protect the tent from the elements. Mesh on the tent’s ceiling and sidewalls maximize cross ventilation and promote air circulation to fight condensation build-up. The Big Agnes Bunk House 4 Footprint (sold separately) can be used to bolster protection from mud, ground water, and sharp objects like rocks, exposed roots and pine needles.

In warm temperatures and clear conditions, the tent can also be pitched as a sun shelter. Simply use the rainfly, the poles, and the included webbing harness without the tent body and enjoy maximum breathability!

  • Oversized, pole-supported front vestibule is big enough for extra gear or your camp chairs
  • Awning-style door on the front vestibule can be staked out as a sunshade

  • Shelter Mode set up requires fly, poles and included webbing harness; can also be set up using the Bunk House 4 Footprint (sold separately) in place of webbing harness

Test drive has me stoked about this standy tent

Likes

Car and base camper: Initial impressions from setting it up in my yard: Can set up alone at 5'6", while still having nice headroom standing. Offers a lot of little perks while staying simple. I love the corner shelves & the many ways I can configure lighting, and storage/privacy options with the many inner loops. Very excited to take this out on a multi-week excursion next month, but can't yet attest to durability & performance in severe weather. I will say I bought this over another tent because of the complete rainfly, and it looks really storm strong for its size. I'm stoked to see how it holds up. This looks WELL, WELL worth adding to the gear loft - especially for the past-season price.

Dislikes

Some fraying to two seam areas observed, but not structural. I agree with some reviews that point out the top of the door zippers as being a point of high tension, I'm fine adding that to my list of things to be conscious of but technically its a drawback. Interested to see how durable that point is. Could have come with two more stakes, not a big deal to me. The bright orange is not my usual style. I'd prefer to blend into the tree line but I'll get over it. The amount of space has its perks, though I'm looking forward a branch of standy tents that focuses on minimizing the amount of vegetation I smother when I'm based for 6+ days.
