What a great tent! We kicked the snot out of this tent on a 12 day backpacking in New Mexico. I was worried about the thin tent material would not hold up. Many of the campsites were rocky, and rockier! I had no need to worry, this tent was made for the abuse. Note, I did pick up the footprint. This tent has many nifty features. Let’s face it, this tent is expensive but it’s super lightweight, and can take your abuse!

Coming from a heavier tent, it was amazing how light it was. Easy to build. Color codes to make sure you're building it the right way is super helpful.

This tent is perfect for two people. Light, easy to set up, and the small features are very thoughtful. Good pockets, breathability, plenty of storage locations inside the tent. I like the pocket for my glasses.

Perfect Upgrade

Replaced an older Eureka 2p tent with the Copper Spur HV UL3, and could not be more happy with it. The tent is very lightweight, especially for the space, however this is certainly most suitable for 2 people and maybe a dog/gear...but I believe this is well documented in any reviews already for this tent. Plenty of storage options inside, and generally well organized as a whole. The UL3 would even work for single backpacking at sub 4 pounds and packs down nicely. The materials are thin, but I believe that once you get past the initial touch-test, you will find it plenty durable. I have yet to encounter any real test of the tent in harsh weather (some rain and light wind), but on its initial outing I can say that I had zero issues to speak of. The tent pitches easily, is well vented, and really is a treat to stay in. You will not be disappointed. Not product related, but Enwild was very speedy with sending out the tent and I was happy to have it in hand by the end of the week, perfect to get the new gear out on trail! Very happy customer on all fronts.

The tent is certainly an investment, so it would be nice if the manufacturer would include the footprint, although I realize weight savings are always a factor, and other solutions are possible. Pretty standard practice, so no foul, but this tent will certainly require extra care and some sort of ground covering will be needed; know this if you are like me coming from a decade old shelter with more robust materials

Copper Spur HV UL 3 It is a very light, comfortable, and easy to set up tent for three people. The vestibules are great for storing packs, shoes and other gear. Perfect for summertime with lots of mesh for ventilation. Really very high quality!

Does everything well. Just took it out on Colorado trip and really liked it! It’s fairly lightweight for a 2-person tent but would absolutely not recommend it for a 3P tent. I don’t even know how it would be arranged. In any case, it was great all around tent for 2P with room. We have 2x 25” pads and had a few inches on each side for sacks and random bits. Easy to setup, plenty of guy lines and spots to secure the tent. The vestibule, which I thought was gimmicky, was actually pretty awesome. Provided a little shade and made an entry way to home. TONS of pockets for storage which was super convenient. Considering getting the 2P for my solo trip.

Zippers have some annoying issues, but nothing terrible. Only really happens when the vestibule doors aren’t taut. It’s thin, as most UL tents are, so we’ll so the longevity but the denier seems ideal. Not so thin like 10D/15D which seems impossibly thin and not too thick at 30D to save on weight.

Easy setup, lightweight, nice design, mesh stash pockets, dries out fast. Very durable for the weight. Used the 2019 version on my entire AT thru-hike with my son. The tent performed well. No complaints and it really didn't disappoint us in rain or wind, even after 6 months. I liked it so much I bought this 2020 model. Would be a tight fit if used with 3 adults. Plenty big for 2.
Dislikes
Minor: wish the rainfly vent could be accessed from inside the tent somehow, so you could close it when the rain starts without going outside and getting wet. Footprint is expensive. I made one out of Tyvex 1443R (kite material) for $25.

SO lightweight and I love how small it packs up. So far I've only had it out for one trip, but the tent and fly material seem strong and durable in spite of how lightweight they are. It handled well in a big thunderstorm. I love that the rainfly offers so many possibilities for entry/exit/propping open in dry weather. Lots of vestibule space and my things stayed dry there. Good ventilation. Tent design maximizes space for sure. I'm 6" tall and I could get in and out of the tent easily and could sit up with tons of room to spare. Love all the gear pockets and the support built into the larger gear stash on the roof. This tent would be good for 2 people or 1 person and a dog (or totally luxurious for 1 person solo camping like me.) I'm a fan and this is a huge upgrade from the REI Half Dome 2+, which has been my solo/couples tent for the past 8 years. The quality of the Big Agnes tent is infinitely better (seams, zippers, materials...)

None so far, really. I'm a fan of the MSR groundhog tent stakes so I used some of those...the ones that come with the BA tent are super lightweight and seem strong, but the groundhogs are easier to work with + I like more stakes than BA provides with the tent to stake out the guy lines on the rain fly.
