Description

Built especially for couples, the Big Agnes King Solomon 15 Degree Doublewide sleeping bag is insulated with lightweight, compressible, and water-resistant 650 fill DownTek insulation. It packs down smaller than most doublewide bags, making it an option for 3-season backpacking or camping.

Down insulation has long been renowned for its compressible properties and efficiency in delivering an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio, but its shortcoming has been its susceptibility to the effects of moisture, losing much of its performance qualities when wet or damp. DownTek insulation utilizes nano technology and a proprietary application process to provide water-repellency and both anti-microbial and anti-bacterial protection without adding bulk or weight. The bag's durable polyester rip-stop shell fabric features a water repellent treatment that further protects the insulation. A polyester taffeta lining enhances interior comfort.

Insotect Flow technology is used in the bag to help eliminate cold spots, regulate the movement of down inside the baffles and offer better body heat distribution. Strategically placed Flow Gate construction eliminates lateral and vertical down shifting by using vertical chambers with "gates" to control the position and density of the down insulation.

In a traditional sleeping system, the bag lies on top of a sleeping pad. In this configuration, many people find themselves rolling off the pad at night. Not only that, but the insulation on the bottom of the bag is often compressed by the sleeper's weight and, once compressed, the fill loses most of its insulating properties. The Big Agnes System is different and joins the bag and the pad together. A Flex Pad Sleeve on the bottom of the bag accommodates pads of varying lengths, widths, and thicknesses and ensures that the pad stays beneath you. It also enables the pad to deliver warmth and it allows Big Agnes to save weight and bulk by only lightly insulating the bottom of the bag itself. You'll stay warm and you can roll and move comfortably during the night without ever worrying about slipping off of your pad.

The bag is designed to be used with any two 20"-25" wide Big Agnes sleeping pads (sold separately) or a single 40" doublewide pad with an R-value or suggested temperature range to match the bag's temperature rating. Other branded pads can also be used.

A double wide insulated ergonomic hood, draft tubes located along the length of the dual anti-snag zippers, and a draft collar combine to lock in heat and keep out cold air to enhance warmth and comfort. Built-in "barns" keep pillows (pillows not included) tucked securely beneath sleepers' heads and an integrated Free Range footbox provides ample wiggle room for feet and toes.

The Big Agnes King Solomon 15 Degree Doublewide fits up to 6' 0" and includes a stuff sack and a storage sack.

So Far So Good

Likes

I have two standard sized square pads and they fit without a problem and it holds them together well enough. I like how they insulation is concentrated at the top rather than at the bottom, which makes sense because compressed down doesn't insulate. This is designed to be used with sleeping pads and as a result, it is almost like a quilt for two with pad management and this saves weight.

Dislikes

Some color choices would have been nice. The colors used look dated. They red inside is OK if you pair it with something other than those blues.

Ideal when combined with the Big Agnes Sleeping Mats

Likes

- Very warm. - Zips on both sides are convenient. - Sleeping mats clip onto bottom of mat. - Sleeping pillows don't slip away.

Dislikes

- The price is high, so I would expect this to last a long time, let's see...

Worth it!

My wife and I had been looking forever for a TWO PERSON BACKPACKING sleeping bag. After much research we found that 99% of the so claimed "two person backpacking" sleeping bags were either too large (came in a duffel bag and weigh 20 lbs) or too small (might fit 2 small children but definitely not fit a 6ft tall man and his 5"7 wife). In the words of Goldilocks this sleeping bag is just right. No sacrificing warmth and comfortability for portability, and the thing looks cool which is most importang of all because what is backpacking if you can't take those outback aesthetic selfies of you and your significant other snuggled up in a sleeping bag.As far as customer support... I had a small issue with one of the zippers being stuck upon arrival. I emailed the company and was called in under an hour, and learned that the zipper can be easily disconnected which I wouldn't have ever found out without having the issue in the first place. Gonna quote Bob Ross on this one with "happy little accidents." I'm glad I splurged a little and got this amazing sleeping bag and I've even more happy I chose Enwild with their top notch customer service and super fast shipping. Products like this give me hope in companies outside amazon. Thank you and Keep it up guys. :)

Dislikes

No dislikes. The zipper issue turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

Incredible comfort and warmth

Likes

This bag packs down quite small when coupled with a compression sack. My fiancé and I used it for a boundary waters trip and we couldn't be more happy with the comfort and warmth. I would recommend this product. This is a truly well thought out design with extreme attention to detail. I cannot think of anything that I would change about the bag.

Dislikes

No dislikes for the bag itself; however, for the price I think it should come with a compression sack.
