Constructed of premium Dyneema fabric, the Big Agnes Onyx Tarp Carbon is an ultra-lightweight option for thru-hikers or ounce-counting backpackers. It offers up to 72 square feet of sheltered protection at a weight of just 6 ounces!
The tarp has numerous guyout points and can be pitched in a variety of configurations. A single Easton carbon-fiber strut pole is included. Trekking poles or Big Agnes Accessory Backpacking Poles (all sold separately) can be used in place of the included pole or in addition to it depending on how you choose to pitch the tarp. Stakes and guyout line are included.
The tarp's Dyneema fabric is incredibly lightweight, rainproof, and an unparalleled resistance to stretching or sagging. Its unique structure has an extremely high tear-strength and allows for welded construction. This eliminates seams or the need for seam tape which enhances durability and waterproofness. NOTE: Dyneema can be punctured, but even if punctured, the fabric resists the tearing you would then expect from traditional fabrics. Big Agnes does include a Dyneema patch in case you experience a puncture.
A stuff sack with an integrated pole sleeve is included with each Big Agnes Onyx Tarp Carbon.
