If you want a full-featured tent that offers lightweight livability and versatility in the backcountry, check out the Big Agnes Salt Creek 2! This freestanding tent maximizes internal space and employs three doors to offer multiple configuration options while weighing in around four pounds.

Description

Versatile access and spacious backcountry livability: The tent has doors on either side, each with a protective nine square foot vestibule. A third door, located on the front of the tent, lets you get in and out without disturbing gear stored in the vestibules. It can also be pitched as an awning to maximize airflow and ventilation. Inside, a peak height of 44 inches and steep side walls maximize available space for up to two backpackers.
Organize and stash your gear: Inside the tent, there's a large overhead ceiling pocket where you can store extra layers or other gear you need quick access to. Two smaller mesh pockets also help you keep gear like headlamps or chargers easily accessible and off the ground. Loops on the interior can be used to secure lights or a gear loft (sold separately).
Fast and intuitive setup: The single aluminum pole set uses color coding that matches up with the other parts of the tent to make setup and takedown simple and efficient. The TipLok Tent Buckle corners streamline setup by combing three functions--securing the pole tips, attaching and tensioning the rainfly, and providing a stake-out loop. Pre-cut guylines and tensioners are attached to rainfly so that all you need to do is stake them down when setting up camp.

The Salt Creek 2 has a trail weight of 4 pounds, 3 ounces and packs down to 20.5" x 5.5" in its included stuff sack. To extend the life of your tent and protect the floor from sharp rocks and roots, Big Agnes recommends using the Salt Creek 2 Footprint (sold separately).
