The classic freestanding solo Big Agnes Seedhouse SL1 tent continues to represent an ideal balance of usable interior space, 3-season backpacking performance, lightweight (trail weight of 2 pounds, 4 ounces) packability, reliable durability, and price.
The tent tapers from 38" at the head to 28" at the feet. This provides solo backpackers with a livable 20 square feet of interior space. An integrated vestibule offers weather-protected external storage space in front of the large single door. A small "sidecar' vestibule provides streamlined external storage space on the side of the tent that can be reached from the interior. Multiple interior mesh pockets provide places to stash gear and clothes while integrated gear loft loops offer a connection point for the Big Agnes Triangle Gear Loft, Trapezoid Gear Loft, or Square Gear Loft (all sold separately).
Lightweight but sturdy DAC Pressfit Poles add freestanding structural support and attach easily to the tent body's integrated plastic clips. Lightweight, durable aluminum tent stakes are included to ensure a taut pitch and maximized stability.
The fly is constructed of silicone-treated nylon ripstop with a 1200mm polyurethane waterproof coating. The floor is made of polyester taffeta and has its own 1500mm PU waterproof coating. All of the tent's seams are sealed with waterproof, solvent-free polyurethane tape (no PVC or VOCs) to further protect the tent from the elements.
The custom-fit Big Agnes Seedhouse SL1 Footprint (sold separately) can be used to add additional protection beneath the tent from mud, ground water, or sharp objects. If you want to save weight and the weather cooperates, you can leave the tent body at home and use just the rainfly, the poles, and the footprint for a tarp-style set-up that weighs just 2 pounds, 4 ounces.
