A great tent... but still new

We ordered this tent from Backcountry Edge early in the season in preparation for our thru-hike of the PCT. It's a 3 person tent, of course, but we are only two persons - for us, the value of having the additional space with a very small weight penalty vs the 2 person tent is worth it. We have camped in tents with both a smaller and larger floor areas, and we like the space. We appreciate having two vestibules and two doors. The semi-free standing set up is very easy, and it seems solid so far (have only done test set-ups so far). We are starting our hike at the end of May and will update this review after we have some real world use on the product. So far we like the relatively low weight for a complete tent with poles as well as the small packed size of the tent. Neither my partner or I hike with trekking poles, so it was silly for us to consider tents that need them to set up. I have owned and used other Big Agnes tents and they have been very good; I see no reason why this tent will not be excellent as well. The total tent weight is spot on as advertised - to the gram!!

The only cons so far are that the "Trail Weight" advertised weight is not accurate - there is no way of achieving this weight unless you chose to omit all of the stuff sacs (which is ok) along with all the tent pegs and the pole repair piece, and then it still comes up a touch short. The tent needs the pegs to set up properly... or you can maybe use rocks or sticks (not too practical). As with most tents, the included number of tent pegs is only adequate for the basic set up. If you want to do a more weather resistant set up using the guy lines, then you need more pegs (or more rocks, sticks etc.).
