Indecisiveness is a Missed opportunity
Likes
This pack was an upgrade from the Deuter Freerider Pro 28. I loaded it up with five 32oz Nalgene water bottles, a large 11x8x6 toiletry bag, a diaper clutch style Bag, headlamp, gloves, hand sanitizer, sunscreen and several snack bars. It was so comfortable to carry. I am not certain if that is due to a better pack or a different packing approach. With the pack on it wasn’t stuffed and looked half empty almost. I specifically chose this bag because of its unique u-zip and divider. I stowed the water bottles in the bottom and everything else up above. I appreciate it’s sleek design, stowable tool loop and two side stretchy pockets. Unfortunately, my indecisiveness lead to a missed opportunity for a more thorough assessment. 3/6/20 “I broke down and purchased this pack once more. Originally it was going to be my 2nd grader’s bag, but I decided now is the most opportune moment for a more thorough test. I have worn this pack pacing my backyard for a few hours day, 15 consecutive days. With my gear and pack it weighs in at 26lbs. The first few days the pack was fine for about 60-75 minutes or so. However On day 11 I feel like this pack Is not for me, especially at the 180 minute mark. My torso length is 18 7/8ths so let’s conclude it’s damn near a 19. I really want to like this pack. I absolutely love it’s sleek design, storable tool loop and stretchy side pockets. I also appreciate that it doesn’t look like a normal backpacker’s pack. Yes it has it’s shortcomings that I mentioned from a previous review. I also would not recommend wearing a tank top with this pack. However I think most packs wouldn’t be comfortable while wearing a tank top. Unfortunately, as much as I adore this pack I have decided to exchange it for something else if I find one that strikes my fancy. Again, I really wanted this pack to be the one pack of my dreams come true. It may very well be the pack for you, however as much as I am fond of this pack I still feel like something is missing and unfortunately this one is not for me.”

I did miss the big fleece lined sunglasses/googles pocket like the one on the Freerider Pro 28. The slash pocket doesn’t hold much for my needs. I really wanted to like this pack, but something was missing; I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. I will clarify I never did take it out for a more thorough test. I loaded it up and walked around the house in 10min increments for several days. I had an upcoming trip and ultimately decided to exchange it for the Mountainsmith scream 50 WSD because apparently I needed a much bigger pack.
