Constructed with synthetic insulation that gives it a 4-season rating, the Exped Ultra 5R inflatable sleeping pad has baffled air chambers and an included pump bag for reliable backpacking performance in variable conditions. This pad is designed for years of worry-free use with durable recycled fabric construction and Exped's FlatValve technology.

Optimized for warmth and weight, the pad's inflatable construction provides 3 inches of comfortable support. The face fabric is a recycled 20D ripstop polyester that's airtight and durable. Inside, synthetic microfiber insulation helps the pad achieve an R-value of 4.8, making it suitable for backpacking and camping even in colder weather.

Exped's low-profile FlatValve technology makes the pad easy to inflate and deflate, and eliminates the stiff edges found on many valves to improve performance over the life of the pad. A one-way inflate valve prevents air from escaping during inflation but can also be opened to let small amounts of air out when fine-tuning the firmness. The deflate valve quickly lets air out so you can pack up and get on the trail. The included Schnozzel Pumpbag makes the pad even easier to inflate since you don't have to huff and puff into the valve, and it helps prevent potentially destructive moisture from finding its way into the interior of the pad.

The Exped Ultra 5R inflatable sleeping pad is available in Medium (72" x 20.5") Medium/Wide (72" x 25.6") and Long/Wide (77.6" x 25.6") lengths.

The mat has a very soft covering, is very comfortable, and no noise. Filling it with air with the included snozzel is easy and deflating the mat is quick. For quickest deflation simply fold the mat into thirds widthwise and squeeze the air out. Then lay the mat back out and fold lenghtwise into thirds. Roll the mat up as you would to put it in the stuff sack.

Dislikes

If you're looking for a true ultralight pad, look eleswhere. It all depends on how you want to use the mat.
