The Men's Ovik Down Shirt Jacket is Fjallraven's stylish take on an insulated workwear jacket. Equally at home chopping wood, going for a winter hike, or navigating city streets, it has classic aesthetics, a super durable utilitarian exterior, a full-length front snap closure, and a layer of cozy goose down insulation.

Description

Rugged exterior fabric with adaptable weather-protection: The jacket's G-1000 fabric (65% recycled polyester and 35% organic cotton) is highly abrasion-resistant, wind-resistant, and incredibly durable. Though it already provides excellent weather-resistance, the fabric can be made almost completely waterproof with the use of Greenland Wax (sold separately).
Cozy warm goose down interior: The jacket is padded and insulated with 100% recycled 800-fill goose down. The lofty, compressible insulation nestles below a polyamide interior lining that enhances next-to-skin comfort.
Additional fit and functional features: The full-length front opening has a press-button closure, and an interior placket helps to keep out drafts. Press buttons on the sleeves offer cuff adjustability. There are two flap chest pockets, side seam hand pockets, and also an internal pocket.

>Why apply Greenland Wax?

G-1000 is a tough material with a tight weave that provides natural wind-resistance, but by adding Greenland Wax, which is made for a mixture of beeswax and paraffin, you can greatly increase the wind- and water-resistance as well as durability. Waxing is actually surprisingly easy. Simply use the block of Greenland Wax (sold separately) and apply in long, smooth strokes which leave behind a thin, even layer. Using an iron (or a hairdryer) on low to moderate heat, melt the wax into the fabric again using long, even strokes. The wax melts at between 131-140 degrees Fahrenheit (55-60 degrees Celsius) and anything beyond those temperatures will cause the wax to get too runny. Repeat if and as you feel necessary for greater protection.
