The jacket's G-1000 Eco fabric a blend of polyester and cotton is incredibly durable. It's highly abrasion-resistant UV-protective and so tightly woven that it even fends off insects. Its dense weave makes it highly wind-resistant and depending on how much wax is applied it can be made fully windproof. NOTE that additional Fjallraven Greenland Wax is sold separately and the jacket does require periodic waxing for optimal protective performance. The wax is easy to apply allows you to customize the level of protection and even gives each jacket a unique aesthetic over time. Double layers of fabric are applied at the shoulders and elbows to increase durability in high-wear areas. With backpackers and trekkers in mind Fjallraven foregoes seams on the shoulders to eliminate chafing beneath pack straps. An adjustable hood extends coverage and maximizes weather protection.

Other features include a two-way full-length front zipper with a buttoned protective flap a tall collar a drawcord-adjustable hem and buttoned cuff closures. There are a total of 8 integrated storage pockets and gear loops inside the lower front pockets allow to lash gear securely in place.
